Weigh the Consequences
Ask yourself what are the consequences of success and of failure.
If I fail what will happen? If I succeed what will happen? You will be relieved to discover that the consequences of failure are not as scary or severe as they may have seemed. You will gain courage and a greater level of expertise every time you step out of your comfort zone. Feel the fear and do it anyway.

Learn to Laugh at Yourself
People who can laugh at themselves greatly ease their performance anxieties. Most of the problems you encounter in life can be dealt with and if it is not a life or death situation...this too shall pass. Take work seriously, but not yourself.

Take a Deep Breathe
Breathe deeply. When we are nervous, we tend to take very shallow breathes of air. This deprives us of oxygen and intensifies the fear factor. Concentrate on taking deep breathes of air.

Forget About Being Perfect
Most performance anxieties stem from trying to achieve the impossible goal of being perfect. Failure is a great teacher. Prepare, rehearse and own your subject matter. You are not absolved from doing your best; just don't strive for perfection.

Boosting Confidence Boosting Confidence - Confidence is something all of us women could stand to have infused in our blood 24/7! It’s one of those areas that many struggle with the most. Through my coaching practice, I’ve discovered an underlying thread that seems to undermine confidence in some women. It has to do with confusing true confidence with pride or arrogance. Confidence is being sure of who you are and what you are able to do in a way that does not compare yourself to others. It is not dependent on value because every one of us women is valuable. Pride or arrogance is when someone lifts him or herself above others as if they are more valuable than others. It also seems to be related to "approval addiction" where the self esteem must continually be fed by others or they don't feel good about themselves. Thus, some arrogant people put others down so they can see themselves as above. Confidence is simply being all of the great woman you already are. You want to create a great business and you want to do your job well. It is not prideful to be confident in what you are doing. I invite you to give yourself permission to really let your abilities come forward and see what happens to you and your business as a result. I’d also love to hear what methods you have for boosting your own confidence.

Re: Urban market promotion Re: Urban market promotion - [quote="myownboss":38izvbws]This could be interesting - how can we learn more about your service?[/quote:38izvbws] Depending on what your particular product or service is, there are a number of possible vehicles. At this time, I'm working on an Urban Music related tour across Canada, which would be an interesting opportunity for an entrepreneur, company or business group to align their product or service with this concept. Fire me off an email to discuss this in more detail: info@soundsupremacy.com. Cheers.
Advisory Board - Steps 9 & 10 Advisory Board - Steps 9 & 10 - Hey Everyone - Sorry for the delay. I have been battling the flu the last few days which has been brutal. But I guess I cant complain, my jeans are loose and I'm down 6 pounds in 72 hours. ;0) Pretty soon I will be back at my high school weight of 117 only 5 more to go! ;0) Anyway, onto the last two steps for setting up your Advisory Board. The caveat with each of these steps is that it is YOUR board. You decide what you want and need and then work it out so it delivers. Step 9) Keep your Board Members Informed There's nothing worse than having a great team of advisors - who dont know what's going on. Once you have your board in place, its important to keep them motivated and excited about your business by giving them updates at times when you arent soliciting their advice. The fact that they have agreed to be on your board means they care about your company - so keeping them up to date will help them be of greater value to you. They are champions and evangelists for your business - commit to giving them constant communications so they can share the message. 10) Fire Bad Board Members. if you realize you have made a bad choice, get rid of him or her as fast as you can. Because your advisor board is not a formal board of advisors you wont have the typical legal issues - but you will have a good management/leadership task on your plate. Tread carefully and lightly but remember that the longer a 'bad seed' sticks around, the longer it takes to remove the 'stench' after they are gone. Just think Omarosa - and cut em loose! This can be very uncomfortable but if you act with integrity and are really upfront about what you need, you should be able to bypass having to let anyone go. Go slow in bringing your board together - perhaps have existing advisors talk with / interview potential new advisors in order to confirm your decision of fit. Good luck! I'm here to help! Jude
