Slow Down To Speed Up! How The Right Action Can Make You Go Faster

As a leader in the sales world, you are always in motion, but sometimes it feels like you are spinning your wheels instead of moving forward. Great leaders recognize when they feel this way, and go back to the basics, following these simple steps:

1. Each day, make time to plan. Easier said than done, right? Except, studies show that thirty minutes of planning can save three hours of wasted effort. Choose two or three really important tasks that will get done today. Put them on your schedule. Don't let anything interrupt. Do them.

2. Break your projects into small steps. In Lord of the Rings, Frodo felt overwhelmed, but Sam kept saying, "Let's just get to the bottom of the next hill, Mr. Frodo." Even if you can't see how you can possibly get to your final destination, start with the first step.

3. Stay in motion. Are you still feeling overwhelmed? Turn off your email and do one of the small steps you listed in number two above. Small steps prevent spinning wheels.

4. Outsource. Rather than do everything yourself, use what already exists. Hire an outsider to do what you don't do well. Travelers don't have to build the hotel they stay in.

5 Be bold, make mistakes -- fearlessly. Sometimes you'll go down the wrong road or turn left instead of right. Simply recognize the error, make the correction and get back on the road.

6. Decide that the journey you are taking is fun, not a trial. Ask, "How can we make this effortless?" One executive told me that changing her perspective took an audit from painful to much less of a chore.

According to Amazon Kindle, the two most highlighted passages from the book are: [quote:1tn0ii6a]Slow philosophy can be summed up in a single word: balance. Be fast when it makes sense to be fast, and be slow when slowness is called for. Seek to live at what musicians call the tempo giusto—the right speed.[/quote:1tn0ii6a] [quote:1tn0ii6a]Slow is the opposite: calm, careful, receptive, still, intuitive, unhurried, patient, reflective, quality-over-quantity.[/quote:1tn0ii6a]

This is your opportunity to make the most important decision you will ever make. Forget your past. Who are you now? Who have you decided you really are now? Don't think about who you have been. Who are you now? Who have you decided to become? Make this decision consciously. Make it carefully. Make it powerfully. regards, Mal.

Advertisement that sales Advertisement that sales - Plan your marketing programme. It should include commitment to capital resources. If you run a small business, you aren't likely to have a generous enough advertising budget that will allow you to run costly branding or campaign ads. Every advertisement you run must convey to your prospect a solid offer and attractive reasons to act quickly, and result in increased sales and an enhanced image of your company. Good advertising always pays its own way through increased sales and profits, improved cost-effectiveness, reduced selling costs and shortened selling cycles. A useful formula that will help you increase the effectiveness of your advertising efforts is A-I-D-A, which stands for Attention, Interest, Desire and Action. When creating an advertisement, always remind yourself that it should: (1) capture your prospects' Attention, (2) arouse their Interest in your offer, (3) create their Desire for your product or service, and (4) provide a powerful spur to Action, that is, turn your prospect into buyers. Remember, bad advertising is an unproductive expense, and good advertising is an investment in future profits!
