Written by: Debora McLaughlin

Article Overview: All work and no play might make Jack a dull boy, but if he's trying to build a successful business he's doing what he has to do. If you think wealth and success will just land in your lap simply because you exist and have started a business, you are sadly mistaken. Wealth and success can be yours... but you have to earn it.

Don't Just Sit There - Work Hard!

You have your vision, you believe in your abilities, and you have the passion about your work. Now it is time to work hard. Every entrepreneur who has become very successful worked hard since day one. Dreams aren't enough to bring you success - you have to work hard for it every single day. You will never attain huge profits if you just sit around in your office staring at the wall all day.

As a writer puts it, you work eight hours each day only for survival; but all the extra hours beyond that is for your success. If you ask a successful entrepreneur, he'll tell you he had to work for more than 60 hours a week during the early stages of his business. The most critical part of your business is during the early stages when you have to make important marketing decisions and so much more. That is why you need to be in control and hands-on to every little detail. This means you have to devote extra hours of your daily life to doing so.

Furthermore, during the start of your business you have to be ready to give up some of your after-office activities such as drinks with friends or even regular weekend travels. It won't be easy to adjust at first, but if you really want your business to succeed you have to make a few sacrifices especially at the onset. Work hard and you will be able to reap the fruits of your labor in due time. Remember, there is no such thing as an easy way to success. Everything can be achieved through hard work and patience.

It is also important that you are willing to learn new things along the way. You don't have to be a degree holder in order for your business to succeed. The truth is there are many successful entrepreneurs who haven't even graduated college. Ever heard of a certain man named Bill Gates? Some haven't even finished high school. In fact, according to studies, most self-made millionaires have average IQ's. So a good education doesn't necessarily dictate your success as a business person. It isn't your sole ticket to success, hard work is.
