Encouragement
Encouragement
Why do people need encouragement?
Encouragement is a pillar of our self-esteem. We have two areas of criteria
from which we base our self-esteem; one is our opinion of ourselves and the
other is the opinion of us we receive from outside sources. Encouragement is
only beneficial to someone when it supports the way the universe wants us to
see ourselves. Anything other than this form of encouragement is actually
discouragement.
Our true opinion of ourselves should only come from our soul, or our true
center which is in constant contact with it’s truth. It is this opinion of us we
receive from the universe, which is free of judgment and sees us as perfect in
a world of imperfection.
When we encourage someone to go in a direction of our choosing and against
their center we are distracting them from who they are meant to be and
pressuring them to go in a direction we have chosen for them. This is not
encouragement it is an act of control. This control may, in the short run, get
us what we want but in the end we may be responsible for creating someone’s
personal failure. We may even exacerbate the persons ability to follow their
own inner compass.
We must walk our own walk from our spiritual center and encourage others to
listen to and be guided by their own signal even if it is in direct opposition to our needs. Selflessness is a by product of knowing that success can only be achieved as a whole and not selfishly.
Encouragement is helping someone listen to their indwelling directions within
and not an attempt to prevent someone from making mistakes. We must all
admit that mistakes have been just as important to our successes as our
successes. Our mistakes and failures have forged our successes into our soul.
Let us all commit to encouraging everyone we know and becoming examples of
this encouragement by allowing ourselves to follow our own inner guidance. Remember...
