Habits

Habits both good and bad have something in common; they block intuitive thought. Habits are mental programs that create what I call AMR (automatic mental response) or “the tail wagging the dog.” These automatic programs kick in anytime we are not fully focused on now or CCM (current conscious moment). CCM is pure truth and all we actually have. The rest of our overall consciousness is either past or future. When guilt or remorse of our past or anxiety over our future intrudes our CCM we tend to convert to AMR as a result of our fear. All failure is created through fear by removing us from CCM which is the birthplace for intuition and inspiration.

The only way to function in CCM is with faith that the Universe is truly a state of GRACE. Grace is the truth that ALL of the cosmos is perfect. No matter what we perceive through our senses, it is merely a judgment of what we encounter and not the truth about our participation. In fact our experience is perception not reality. We use what we perceive through our experiences to train our subconscious mind, which is the funnel for our AMR. Good habits and bad habits are merely distinguished by our behavioral productivity.

As we all move from CCM to AMR constantly, it is vital that we have as many good habits and as few bad habits as is possible. Building good habits is the only way to neutralize bad habits. We must create a good habit to replace the bad habit. After creating the new habit we must practice it in CCM consciously making the decision to choose the good habit over the bad. With systematic exercise, the new good habit will eventually overshadow the old bad habit. We can never replace old habits as the human brain remembers everything it has absorbed since before our birth and unlike a computer we do not have a delete button. We may not have recall without great mental organization, yet the information remains there till our death.

Once we back our CCM with a supportive AMR we can walk through our life experience with a new found faith that all is well and our future is guaranteed. With this confidence we will be amazed at the increase of intuitive thought and inspired attitude. People are remembered more for who they were than what they did. We are to look to the Universe with love, trust, wonder and awe. When we look to the Universe properly it will produce the opportunity for our ultimate potential. When passion meets opportunity success is inevitable. And as always, remember…

Your Life is PERFECT,

Randy Ek

I only managed to get partway through the list today because my one year old was looking for some playtime but I did read the Zen Habits one - I love reading Zen Habits while relaxing at a coffee shop!
Re: My 3 best business books Re: My 3 best business books - 1. Think and Grow Rich - Napoleon Hill 2. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People - Stephen R. Covey 3. Permission Marketing - Seth Godin Think and Grow Rich seems more powerful each time I read it or dip into it. The 7 Habits not only offers some very effective ways to organize your life (which I have yet to master!), but also some great quotations and thought provoking statements including this by Nazi concentration camp survivor, Viktor Frankl: [i:2naxzsom]Between stimulus and response, man has the freedom to choose.[/i:2naxzsom] Seth Godin's Permission Marketing is a good read for anybody seeking to understand how to approach doing business on the Internet in the right way with regard to winning people's trust.
Re: What I'm reading this weekend - Sept 10, 2010 Re: What I'm reading this weekend - Sept 10, 2010 - I was also interested in the Zen Habits affiliate programme as it might mix well with my business/japan blog...
Re: Money Does Not Guarantee Happiness Re: Money Does Not Guarantee Happiness - Thanks for singling this point out, Chris. One book that comes to mind that covers it in an overall approach is "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey. He addresses our inner life and the way it can change our effectiveness home and at work. There are corporations who have taken this model and effectively molded their business around it.
Re: What I'm reading this weekend - Nov 12, 2010 Re: What I'm reading this weekend - Nov 12, 2010 - Hi Evan, Yes, do keep posting the list, please! I socked two articles into my "read later" file... Zen Habits - Momentum, and $100 a day from info products. The "read later" file is a real time saver... the only problem being that I haven't yet read anything in it. I know: I'll read it later! Mañana! DH
