Our Perception Is Our Reality!
Is reality real? Zen professes, “We don’t see the world as it is, we see it as we are!” This twenty five hundred year old philosophy is being proven true by today’s Quantum Physicists. What does this say about reality as we have come to know it? It is bound to change!
I tend to believe this implication and support it with a single fact; of all my siblings I agree with none of them! Even thought all five of us experienced nearly the exact childhood environment we all seem to see the world much differently. If my siblings and I see things so differently growing up with such similar experiences, it is no wonder that the rest of the world is constantly at odds.
I think it took me years to come to grips with the truth about perception because of my terror of the truth revealing the level of responsibility I must eventually accept. The unveiling of my warped perception is rooted in the information I received in my influential learning years. My mother’s information was tainted by her liberal upbringing and my father’s was tainted by conservative influence. So how does this learning process effect perception?
I believe that we each have two personality platforms which form the filters from which we perceive our reality. First is the one I call ‘Foundational Personality’ which is basically attached to my DNA and the person I was born to be. I believe this to be about 10% of my belief which is nearly impenetrable. The second is what I call ‘Environmental Personality’ which is based on my experiences through which my brain has filtered all that it has acquired. The byproduct of all this filtered information is what I call me.
How much of whom we are can we change? How much we can change is primarily dependent on two things; 1) how much of what we have acquired in building ourselves we are prepared to accept, 2) how much of what we have accepted are we willing to change.
Ever opinion we have is a direct result of a belief we have acquired so if we want to change we must first follow a five part process; first we must take responsibility for our thoughts and our beliefs, Secondly we must allow everyone in our lives to be fallible, thirdly we must become fallible, fourthly we must seek the truth at all costs. Lastly we must go within to accept our truth and stop looking for outside influence to prove our value. As with scientific experiments we must add to every opinion; based on all the information I have acquired, in the environment it was collected, run through the filters it had to endure. Finally we should add to all our opinions; this is the opinion I have acquired and it is bound to be different than others and is definitely of no higher value.
The universe is ever changing therefore my perception must also stay ever
changing to accommodate for the unlimited availability to new truth. I
am truly grateful for my perception for it is my perception that creates my life. Yet it
is spiritual mind or God consciousness that is the only true perception. Truth cannot be tainted by opinions. Opinions seem to keep me from seeing, believing or achieving my ultimate possibilities. "The only thing keeping me from knowing the truth is the foolish idea that I already know it." Remember...
Your Life is PERFECT!
