Developing Synergy
I would like to take this time to thank you for supporting my ideas demonstrated in my Rocket Report. This newsletter has been a success only due to your support. Support is necessary in encouraging new ideas, for without support, ideas have little or no value. It is this fact that makes Support the sixth element in our series, “Seven Ingredients for a S.U.C.C.E.S.S.ful Life”.
So what is support? True support is helping people achieve their ultimate potential at any cost to us. Most support we give or receive is egocentric. Everyone is willing to help others if the outcome benefits self in some way. How much would we be willing to support our significant other, for instance, if their happiness required our leaving? How much support do our children get from us if their desires take them down roads we disapprove? How much support would we offer a friend if we were convinced the outcome would bring them pain? We can excuse ourselves all we want but true support is to love someone enough to support them unconditionally. Most religions call this type of support Grace, and only the Master Creator is capable of this type of perfect unconditional love, or Support.
We project personal painful experiences on others, disguised as our concern. We must remember that although we would have preferred avoiding pain ourselves, it proves to be the grand teacher. The lessons I remember most emphatically were the most painful. To love someone is to let them learn the lessons necessary in achieving wisdom at whatever cost. Wisdom is knowledge forged by experience and if we block someone’s experience, we might be blocking the necessary ingredient to their potential.
We must support each other constantly. We can show concern through the sharing of our own personal experience, strength and hope, offering our wisdom, however, we don’t have the right to demand that that our advice be taken. The final decision is always in the hands of the decision maker. We are all one people and must all learn our lessons in similar fashion. It would do us all well to remember that love is not control. It is respecting people by allowing them to experience life full throttle, standing beside them to the very end. This is true support, which determines true friendship and love.
Support me next month and we will finish our series by examining Selflessness the secret to joy.
Life is PERFECT,
PAY ATTENTION!
Love,
