Smoke & Mirrors?

I heard a Psychiatrist say on TV the other night that he thought The Secret was nothing more than “smoke and mirrors”. I strongly disagree with him. I will agree however that if you merely know the secret nothing extraordinary will occur in your life. The power unleashed by The Secret is proportionate to the action one creates in manifestation of one’s faith. We are all given everything we need in order to achieve our ultimate potential. We must, however, achieve and maintain an inner focus until we receive clarity, then we need to take the appropriate action necessary to achieve our goal.

The Secret isn’t really a secret. Those of us who have studied metaphysics are keenly aware of our intrinsic power. Great Prophets have been expounding on the principals called The Secret for millenniums. Abraham, Moses, Buddha, Confucius, Krishna, Rama, Jesus, Muhammad and Hermes are just a few of the Spiritual Leaders who have tried teaching us of our spiritual inheritance, which is the basis for The Secret. In all of histories spiritual teachings I have found a common thread of personal power best described in the Bible as, “made in God’s image and likeness.” We are co-creators with the Master of the Universe, with the power always freely available to everyone with the sufficient faith.

What we think eventually becomes our reality. Thought, becomes belief, belief becomes behavior, behavior becomes habit and habit manifests reality. The Secret, as random thought, is exactly as the Psychiatrist on TV said, “smoke and mirrors.” But once thought is concentrated, focused and empowered through action, nothing can withstand its power. We can literally accomplish anything we can dream if we are willing to let our faith propel us beyond our reality.

Victoria's Secret - Too Sexy? - This will be upsetting for some men. I just heard a report about Victoria's Secret and it was interesting. Their sales were down drastically in the 4th quarter of 2007 and the report was about how they are thinking the company has gotten too far away from the heritage that made it the blockbuster company it is. They are thinking the ads etc have become too sexy and the plan (at the moment) is to make the ads more sophisticated. That would be like the Super Bowl commercial which was very tasteful, but very different from any Victoria's Secret I've seen lately. Who do you all think the current sexy ads are targeting? I think its the men that they hope will buy these items for their female significant others. I hate to give Omarosa any kudos - but most women aren't "sold" on an item by an ad of a near naked sexy woman. Shri
