The Energy of Tolerations!

The Energy of Tolerations!

Have you ever thought about how much stuff you tolerate each day that, for the most part is not necessary? Putting up withtolerations holds us back, causes us grief and wastes our time and energy.

We are often taught not to complain, that life is difficult, not to rock the boat, to go along with others, to be grateful for what we have and to be understanding. Although not necessarily bad advice, we can stop tolerating things that negatively impact our life!

Tolerations may not be good for us, but they do give us a guaranteed source of energy. We humans are the same: we're focused on getting through the day and whether it takes caffeine, unmet needs, tolerations or disturbances, by gosh, we're going to make sure we have what it takes to make it until bedtime.

However, there is a tremendous down side to putting up with tolerations. I believe that each toleration we endure drains energy from us. Did you ever think that you might be able to accomplish much more of the things that “really matter” to you if you tolerated less?

Think about a time where you put up with something or someone when you knew in your heart the situation was not good for you. It doesn’t have to be a big thing. It could be something as simple as not cleaning your kitchen, or not changing the oil in your car, even though it needed to be changed a month ago. Your filing system may be a mess or you’re neglecting to balance your
check book. It may be something bigger like tolerating issues in a relationship where clear boundaries have not been established. Begin taking a look at what you’re tolerating and start taking baby steps to eliminate them and watch what happens.

When we eliminate tolerations we raise our standards and improve our quality of life. But until we stop tolerating, no significant changes can happen.

When you begin to take actions to stop tolerating, be prepared for a possible downside and make sure you have enough “insurance” or resources to handle the risk. Identify the little things to stop putting up with first, until you get a handle on just how far you can take it. When you stop tolerating the little things you will likely discover that you can take it much further than you first believed possible.

Ask Yourself...
1. Why do I have tolerations in my life? How do they really work for me?
2. Am I ready to find another source of energy? How do I know I am?
3. What would it mean to have no tolerations, to be a Toleration-Free Zone?

Begin Eliminating Tolerations:
• Write down all of the tolerations you can think of (keep adding to the list), even if you don't know how to resolve them. Just acknowledging what you are tolerating is worthwhile. The solution will come.
• Look for a pivotal toleration which refers to something that you are putting up with that when handled, will resolve other tolerations, automatically.
• Don't just handle the toleration, make sure you identify the source or you will have to handle the same toleration (or its cousin) again. You can eliminate the toleration by eliminating the source, setting up an automatic system, resolving the problem, telling the truth, etc.

The benefits we gain from removing tolerations in our life are enormous. We will stop wasting time, trying to manage situations that shouldn't be there in the first place. We find that we have more energy to devote to our quality of life. There is a greater opportunity for growth because we are not distracted or weighed down with tolerations. Our community will be upgraded and we will have more energy to spend with fulfilling people. We will also model for our family and friends what is possible for them.

Re: Will North America make carbon taxes anytime soon? Re: Will North America make carbon taxes anytime soon? - Well I recently started to work at a solar company in Ontario, and business is booming. The Ontario government is doing a great deal since passing the Green Energy Act. This is where the government is buy the energy you produce. 80 cents for kwh. A lot of people in Ontario are putting up solar panels on their roofs, and feeding back the grid green energy.

Re: Offline Marketing V/S Online Marketing Re: Offline Marketing V/S Online Marketing - [quote="samin":1dlwh4yc]I have heard that there are multinational companies which are spending several thousand DOLLARs each month on their online promotion. Take for example companies like expedia are spending around > $50,000/month on their Pay per click Google/Yahoo ( I just read this somewhere, although not sure). However, I would like to know whether a travel related business can benefit more from online marketing, offline marketing, or equally from both.[/quote:1dlwh4yc] Hi Samin, When I was working at Direct Energy, I think a co-worker of mine told me that the company spent approx. $300,000 to have a banner on the side of the ice rink in the Air Canada Centre for a Toronto Maple Leaf playoff game a few years back. That makes $50,000/month for online marketing seem like nothing, haha. In regards to your question, I think a travel related business will benefit most from online marketing with SEO tactics since people primarily look for cheap flights on the web. Furthermore, having good word of mouth is important as well. Speaking from personal experience, I'll tend to ask my friends and family where they've recently booked a cheap flight rather than go to the local shopping mall's flight booking centers.
Re: HOw to market a B2B consulting company Re: HOw to market a B2B consulting company - How about providing a white paper on Common security holes (only mention the ones that the prospect can easily and inexpensively fix themselves). Towards the end explain that there are other greater security flaws that exist and that you provide a "Free Security Consultation and Report". They could use this report to get cheaper quotes but you are getting so much more... you get face time with the company and get to build rapport with them. I know of a company here in Toronto that does Energy Audits on your home and provide you with a report on ways you can save energy- they also also offer to fix it for you through their suppliers. they had a story run on them on Earth Day this year and they were bombarded with over 200 calls in one day to have these audits done. The audits are done for free. You could write up a shocking story on Security and holes that exist within businesses today and submit this story to the newspapers business edition or to a Trade Magazine written for the industry you are trying to serve. Most journalists may pick up this article and feature it or interview you directly. Also, I would redesign your site to be more Information-based to educate potential prospects (how to solve common security issues) rather than it being all about the company - people are more interested in solving their problem and often aren't searching the internet for a particular company by name unless it is well established. So give them juicy information freely. note: When I first heard this idea of giving away free information about solving a problem I was hesitant to use it in my web design business. I gave it a try anyways and the amazing part was that even the easy inexpensive things I advised them they could fix in their websites they offered to pay me to do it for them - from there I was able to upsell them on greater improvements. I've since sold this company - but it was fun!
