How the Media Can Make or Break Your Business
I have had the honor of working in media for over a decade. I'm amazed at how the industry can make or break your business if you don't use it to your advantage.
Earlier, I was on a coaching call with one of my clients talking about marketing strategies about how to get more business. A thought hit me like ten tons of bricks that answered my pressing questions about marketing. I found out that business owners can successfully market, based on what the latest news is reporting.
If you find out what's being reported in the news that negatively affects many people, then you can appeal to your potential customers. For example, about three months ago, the media began using the word recession to describe the state of the American economy. By looking at current advertising on the internet and in newspapers, advertisers have played up the word "recession" in their message. Just like them, if you focus your marketing strategies on the events in the news that are troublesome to many and create a solution, then you can "win the game" in finding ways to serve others in the highest way.
Start by finding out what's going on in your local news. You can get creative through a press release to the media to align your business with their message(s).
