Whether as a parent, partner, small business owner or sales manager, we all know that there are two ways to initiate an important (perhaps even challenging) conversation or project. We can play to win - or play not to lose. Playing to win requires some strategy and taking into consideration how the other person(s) will be affected and hopefully benefit. It also commands a sense of purpose, responsibility and a fair bit of effort! Playing not to lose takes just about as much out of you, without the potential \\\\\\\'positives\\\\\\\' that come from playing to win. What are the signs that you have slipped into this mode; perhaps trying \\\\\\\'really hard\\\\\\\', feeling tired, disheartened or discouraged, confused, or unclear?
How do you REINVENT Yourself? - Click To Read Article
You really can reinvent yourself, and you don’t have to back up the calendar. In fact, that’s what reinvention is, and we all can do it ‘every day' if need be. The alternative is that we make excuses about why we can’t - and thus, put our choices in the hands of someone else. If you reflect for just a few minutes, chances are you will recall numerous times in your life where you chose to make the best of a 'not so great' situation. It might have been a choice to think or respond differently, or completely rewrite the script! The great thing is that the decision was and is always yours! Here's to your success!
WRITE A NEW STORY - Click To Read Article
'Write a New Story' is a great metaphor for many things in our lives. Sometimes it's about creating healthier habits. It could be initiating important changes in the way you contribute to your key relationships - or making a decision to move beyond an existing situation. Either way, what's most important is recognizing the choices we have and acting on those choices with honesty, wisdom and compassion. As we know, the outcomes that develop are stronger-decision making skills, more confidence, courage, personal happiness and fulfillment of purpose.
Embracing Change - Click To Read Article
Whether in our personal or professional lives, there is one guarantee that holds true - there will be change… and now, more than ever! As Alan Deutschman shares in his book, Change or Die, “Change doesn’t have to be something that happens to you. You can make it happen – actively, intentionally, and deliberately – if you develop an understanding of how change really works…” One of the ways we can begin to understand how change really works, in order to be more open to it, is to ask ourselves better questions about circumstances (or people) in our lives. Enjoy this excerpt from another one of Sheri's workshops for entrepreneurs. She has become an expert at not only at'embracing change' yet 'inspiring and facilitating change' as well!
Introduction To Entrepreneurship - Click To Read Article
In this brief article and overview of one of Sheri’s interactive workshops, she offers insights that are ‘tested and true’! Some of the key points include, being in the now, devising your plan and keeping yourself motivated! Modeling this in her own life, she emphasizes the importance of being committed to constant and never-ending learning; and how ‘applying’ this alone will keep you a cut above the rest! She reminds us that it takes at least 21 days to form a habit (good or bad); so staying the course gives your ‘plan’ a chance to ‘take shape and become natural’, and subsequently ‘pay-off’ for you as well!
