Achieving goals

Now that you have established goals with a strong goal statement and you are ready to work with a structure to achieving those goals. We will visit value-based goals later, for now let's touch on the goals that are exactly what you want not something that sounds good. Let's go over seven steps for you to review for your achieving your goals.
1.)Keep your goals foremost in your mind. Write them down in your business journal that is a good way of making sure you don't forget or overlook them. Find some way to keep focused on them. Review your goals daily. This way it will remind you of everything you have to do daily to get you closer to making your goals a reality.
2.)Be on the lookout for goal hijackers. Goals and actions must work together. For example, if you have a goal of spending more time with your family, taking a job that includes 90 percent travel is going to hijack that goal. As you are making decisions, ask yourself does this activity bring me closer to my goal or does it move be further from it, if the answer is "closer to" then you are on the right track. If the answer is "further from" the goal, then it will be a good idea to rethink and see if you can rework it to "closer to". It is natural to sway from your goals from time to time. However, if you keep the goal in mind it will be easier to get back on track, remember goal highjackers and it will help you to recognize the difference between swaying from a goal and being confronted with a goal highjacker.

They simply have im - To stay motivated and work to achieve your goals, first thing is that the goals must be ones that you truly want and believe you can achieve. If the goals are ones that you think you should have,(in other words impotent goals) then forget it, it just won't happen. MichelleJ
Re: Did you meet your goals in 2010? Re: Did you meet your goals in 2010? - Hey Yinka, I met some of my goals, but I didn't meet others. One of my goals was to get out of debt. I managed to do so, only to get back into debt due to an unforeseen circumstance. Business-wise, I didn't quite reach the goals I had; although, I came much closer than I did back in 2009. At least it was an improvement, and I expect to reach my goals for 2011. Best wishes for you, and I hope you can reach all the goals you set.

Re: The Half time of the year is over Re: The Half time of the year is over - Hi Yinka, Yes, six months remain and most of my goals also remain... goals! That reminds me, it's time to head over to Kevin's thread on "goals" and hand in another report...
