Close The Gap!
How close would you say that you are to your dreams and goals? How important is it for you to get there? Obviously, we all want to be happy and have the success we desire. It's very easy to sit and think about our dreams and goals and where we want to be. However, it may not be as easy to actually believe that it's possible to have the successful life we are capable of having. Please realize that it is possible! Now is the time to close the gap from where you are to where you want to be!
When closing the gap between where you are now and where you want to be, it may be necessary to work your plan of action from both ends. I'm sure you can make a plan or a list of things to do now towards your goals. However, it can be challenging to work backwards when the goal is not yet a reality. Once you know what your dream or goal is, you must visualize it everyday! To help you visualize, write down your goal or dream, make a vision board or look into some different visualization methods. In addition to visualizing you can start to "act as if" your goal is already achieved. This action may seem kind of foolish, but it's actually fun when you get use to it. When you visualize and act as if, you are putting yourself in the future state of where you want to be, which fuels your desire to get there. These are very effective tools.
Work on closing the gap between where you are and where you choose to be. Think about your dreams and goals and write at least two paragraphs about it. Be as specific as you can. Where would you live? Who would your friends and associates be? What would your title be? How many lives would you have help to change? Will you be well known for your generosity? Act as if! If you want to become a best selling author, start writing. Start by writing something small, an article, a short story or a top ten list in your area of expertise. Send it to everyone you know and ask for feedback. Act as if you are already a best selling author. "Acting as if" helps strengthen your belief that your goal will be achieved because you are physically doing it, not just thinking what it would be like.
"It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult." - Seneca
"If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place." -- Nora Roberts
