This Wonderful Recession

What a wonderful time to be alive! I'm sure that there is no way anyone could have witnessed the inauguration of the 44th President, Barack Obama, and not felt a tremendous sense of positive change happening in our world. There is a positive shift happening and I truly feel like now is the time to get in rhythm with it. Now is the time to not hold back in expressing your true spirit.

Every one is talking about the recession and how bad things are right now. Talking about how bad things are, tend to bring about more bad things to talk about. I am aware of the many people who are losing their jobs and the closings of major corporations. However, I'm asking that we shift our focus to the positive realities going on.

Be grateful for everything you have in your life right now. One key thing that I have learned is that obstacles are for your growth! Obstacles show up to make you stronger. Please recognize your power; your greatness; your ability to be the success you were meant to be. You have talents and abilities inside of you that you haven't even tapped into yet. Successful people are known for rising up out of adversity. Successful people make a choice not to let obstacles stand in the way of what they want. Your level of determination for the success you desire has to be stronger that any obstacle that shows up. It's extremely important to focus on the positive. There are always positive things to focus on and be grateful for. As Oprah always says, "start with you are breathing and go from there".

Now is the best time for you to act on your ideas! Write down your ideas. What you come up with can be your key to great wealth. Under each idea, write down at least 2 steps you think should be your next move in order to get your idea out there, then act! Get moving! Complete the first step, than the second step. This process should start you in the right direction towards making your idea become a reality.

If you have a thought to make or create something, know that you have the ability to do it! I believe that if you have a thought to do something, you also have the wisdom and the ability to do whatever it is. Some may be thinking "but how?". This is where I believe we start to get off track. As Mike Dooley says on the DVD Movie "The Secret", "The hows are the domain of the universe". Your focus should not be on how something will happen. Focus on the end result. You have all the qualities needed inside of you, to be successful! It's right there inside of you! A recession is a wonderful catalyst to bring those qualities out. However, It's your choice to make. You can cry, whine, and complain about the state of the economy or you can choose to live your potential! Realize that, right now, someone is in need of the value that only you can offer!

Please determine to challenge yourself now more than ever! You have the power to change your habits, the power to acquire skills; and most importantly, the power to choose…your happiness, your attitude and your success.

"It's A Wonderful Life" is all about perspective, much in the same way that Scrooge is 'realigned' in Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" - which I listen to on CD every year (sometimes twice!) Favorite Christmas movies - Back when us kids were young (my parents had 3), my mom, sister and I would watch White Christmas every Christmas. (My dad and brother were never interested.) Now the rest of the family is scattered, and only I live close to my parents. We got away from the tradition, but now my mom and I watch [i:1h8kfk2v]White Christmas[/i:1h8kfk2v] again. (Just as every Halloween we watch Arsenic and Old Lace.) I also like the 1970 musical [i:1h8kfk2v]Scrooge[/i:1h8kfk2v], starring Albert Finney, much better than any version done since!
