Train Your Salon Spa Team to Up-Sell

Good salon spa management is just as vital as good marketing and training your team to up-sell is a quick way to improve business profits. Up-selling salon or spa service not only increases sales but just as importantly it adds value to your customer relationships. For example if a customer is just having the same old waxing service each time she comes in wouldn't it be beneficial to her if she could have the hair removed on a more permanent bases with IPL or Laser. If the answer is yes and these options haven't been recommended then this is another lost sales opportunity. From experience it is know that salon and spa employees who aren't trained to up-sell and cross-sell often do not offer the customer additional services or products. They take the easy way and just do the service the customer has scheduled for. Potential profits could be walking out the door every single day. Can your salon spa business afford this to be happening?

Today, the secret to success in the beauty industry is about retaining every customer and serving them so well they become raving fans for your salon or spa business. Let your customers become your best advertisement because you and your team know "what your customers really want". This builds sales growth the key indicator of the health of every salon or spa business.

Fortunately, with a little planning, some sales goals, and then taking positive action, sales growth will happen. The secret is to take action set realistic goals and then develop the specific actions to achieve these goals. Sure you still have to spend some money on salon spa marketing and also provide good promotions but if your team are not trained to up-sell successfully money will be walking out the door. I hope you have found this article informative and the concepts and ideas will get your salon or spa cash register going Ka-ching Ka-ching.

Re: Feedback on a New Company Name Re: Feedback on a New Company Name - [quote="litekepr":1krjv27f]Not talking about a domain name. The sites I use to promote the tour business are already established. The idea is to have a name which includes what I do with that division of my business - it needs to be more personalized and professional instead just saying I'm Nikki and I coordinate tours. The SEO stuff is being taken care of on sites and blogs and other avenues. Anyway, I'm getting a lot of great feedback about the name and the search engines bringing up new posts and many older posts by me and about me that all point to my sites. Interesting perk I hadn't thought about. Shri[/quote:1krjv27f] Hi Shri, While I kind of see where you're coming from... but if the name is too long or descriptive, chances are it won't be very catchy or easy to remember. For instance, there's a company in Toronto called "BizLaunch" and their tagline used to be "We Train Entrepreneurs" (so that people would immediately understand what their business and website does). I think they've now changed their tagline to "Where entrepreneurs start", but the point is that "BizLaunch" sounds a million times better than if they had named their business "We Train Entrepreneuers". I think with some work, you could easily brand the name of your business (whatever you end up choosing) with the nature of its activities.
Re: Anyone Uses Elance.com? Guru.com? Rentacoder.com? Re: Anyone Uses Elance.com? Guru.com? Rentacoder.com? - I've had quite a bit of success on oDesk.com. I've never used Elance so I can't compare. I like oDesk.com 'cos I get to sort thru people (e.g. within a certain bid range) with a single click. I find their help response very quick and I like the oDesk Team software that "providers" must install. This gives me the Buyer more insight as to what I am paying for. The Team software takes screenshots of the Providers screen on 10 min increments so I can see that the person is infact doing work for me.
