How to Avoid Burnout and Gain a Fresh Perspective: An Uplifting Lesson From the Beach

Written by: Sandy R. Lawrence

Article Overview: A day at the beach is one of those American images of happiness and relaxation, but in reality, there's much more to learn from the shoreline. This brief analogy from the beach will help put progress and personal challenges in perspective, and for the believer, it's a reminder of the spiritual aspect of the success journey.

How to Avoid Burnout and Gain a Fresh Perspective: An Uplifting Lesson From the Beach

High Tide, Low Tide, Storms . . . Another Day at the Beach

So often we forget that progress in any endeavor is not necessarily a steady succession of actions being taken in a rhythmic pace like that of waves lapping on a beach.

If you've ever spent a couple of days at the beach, even the seashore appears to experience daily set backs when the tide goes out or when a serious storm leaves behind litter . . . and at times, even treasure if you look closely.

Be encouraged today as you consider it is normal to experience a rise and fall of your personal focus and commitment to daily disciplines. Focus on what you are doing well, what you are willing to accept responsibility for, where you are growing, who you are allowing to hold you accountable, what you are changing, what you are confessing, where you are healing.

Most importantly, keep praising God for what He has done and what He's promised to do in and through you by the power of His Holy Spirit of His Son Jesus Christ. Whether today this finds you in a low tide or riding the rough seas, take the next step towards your goals, walking with God by faith.

You can trust He will continue to help you discern what is trash and what might be 'treasure' left behind in today's low tide or yesterday's storm, just as much as you can trust Him to calm you and help you stay on course in spite of rough seas.

Simply picture the beach at its best. And . . . picture your life at its best. Let your vision propel you to move towards what God is showing you today.

Re: About: product production! Re: About: product production! - Dear Fresh Goods, A patent is not always the best thing to do. Keep in mind less than 2% of all patents pay their own legal expenses. The formula for Coca Cola was never patented. If it was that secret formula would have been public knowledge 100 years ago! A patent has value if you are licensing your invention. Without a patent you have nothing to sell. In this age of out sourcing, computer modeling, and CNC machines, manufacturing unique products in low volume is easier than it has ever been. It may be best to contract out the manufacturing of the components you can't buy.
