You don’t have to look far to know that the message for success so far in 2004 is teamwork. To win a Super Bowl you must play as a team. To win an Olympic gold medal in hockey you must execute as a team. Sports and business are not all that different. If every woman on the team does her part and the goal is clearly statedto accomplish a clearly stated goal, the results will be achieved. No team can afford to build up the ego of a superstar, yet many do. When the superstar wins, the company takes a bow and forgets the importance of teamwork the rest of the team. When the superstar loses, others on the team often take pride in the “I told you sos” that come from not being included. Play like a team and win like a team is a lesson for children and adults, in sports, in business and in much of life. Remember, there is no “I” in team.
