Simple Success Secrets

The great guru of helping others achieve their hearts desire, Anthony Robbins, has said, “Success is in the clues.” One of the great things about living in today’s world of abundance and opportunity is that almost everything you want to do has already been done by someone else. It doesn’t matter whether it’s running a marathon, starting a business, becoming financially free, starting a meditation practice or having a more balanced lifestyle – someone has already done it and left clues in the form of books, manuals, audio and video programs, web research, online courses, seminars, and workshops. Hence, the question I have for you is: Who has already done what you want to do?

The reality is, just a phone call away are people who’ve already successfully done what you want to do and who are available as teachers, mentors, advisors, coaches, and consultants. This is in fact one of the most powerful tools to creating new results for oneself in any area of their life. If you researched any great being on how they achieved the results they desired in their life, you would quickly find that the majority of them not only sought out books and courses to help facilitate their desired results, they also took the time to create an intention to attract others who had done what it is they want to do. They actively cultivated relationships with teachers, mentors, advisors, coaches, and consultants toward their desired results and success. It is important to understand that in your journey toward creating new successes in your life, you have the choice not to travel alone. Realistically, if you choose to surround yourself with a community of individuals whom can model their success to you moving forward, you will travel more gracefully and effectively toward any desired result you now hold for yourself!

So, you ask, why don’t people seek out clues and take advantage of the resources available to them? It never occurs to them. Most of us don’t see others using these resources, so we in a sense are culturally trained not to do it either. Most likely our parents didn’t do it, our friends aren’t doing it, and nobody we work with is doing it either. Plus, it’s inconvenient. We’d have to go to the put time and energy traveling to the bookstore, researching on-line, ask around networking for good contacts to reach out to. We’d have to drive across town to a meeting with a new person. We’d have to take time away from television, family, or friends. Also, asking others for advice or information puts us up against our fear of rejection. We are afraid to take the risk. We are afraid of what others might say or think of us if we make ourselves visible in this capacity.

Ultimately, trying to utilize this new tool and implement it is way off from how we traditionally have done things. This would mean change, and change – even when it is in our best interest – is uncomfortable. Who wants to be uncomfortable? High peak performers or individuals who have achieved a Wealthy & Successful lifestyle in all respects, are constantly training themselves to be comfortable being uncomfortable, as the short-term discomfort is a sign that they are growing into their ideal hearts desire for their life’s vision. How do you respond to discomfort today? What type of clues to you currently seek to your desired future successes? Remember, one of the great things about living in today’s world of abundance and opportunity is that almost everything you want to do has already been done by someone else!

Back in late 1992, MS Access hit the streets. About that time the company I managed needed new software to handle their growing client base and I decided to try this new product. I had little difficulty writing and adapting a database to suit us and discovered a hidden talent for programming. A business was born. With business studies and 25 years of management experience in three different countries under my belt, I could offer a unique combination of skills and my customers agreed. From these humble beginnings my software 'invoiceit' emerged in 1999 and has since been taken to 49 states (hello Wyoming, won't you join us?), all across Canada and more than 70 other countries. From the very beginning the program included cashbook accounting, the simplest form of keeping financial business records. The Dictionary.com defines 'cashbook' as "A 'book' in which to record money received and paid out". For 'book' substitute 'simple software' and that's what I'm about. Now I have published Simple Accounting, an inexpensive spreadsheet solution which even you can master. For just $14.95 it costs less than a takeout meal!
