Small Business Coach - Want More Money, Power and Empowerment? Turn Crisis Into Opportunity

Money can't buy happiness, but the lack of it sure can create misery! Watching the global economic meltdown and the many and varied responses to it over the past few months has started me thinking about how much of our power we give away to money - making it, spending it and losing it!
The economic bubble has burst because the foundations were not solid - the unprecedented growth we have experienced in recent years has crashed because the underpinnings were lacking - in leadership, integrity and sustainability.

Keep stretching a rubber band and it will eventually break. New structures now need to be built. As intelligent business owners, we now have a phenomenal opportunity to participate in rebuilding an economy and a society with a different set of values.

For many people, the next twelve months will be a time of consolidation. As a business coach, I see many businesses still doing well, but there are plenty that aren't. It is time for us to consider where our real power comes from. Do our economic circumstances (and our status symbols) really dictate who we are? Or is the source of our power (and empowerment!) within us?

It is easy to get caught up talking about the doom and gloom, or to feel depressed about what we have lost. It takes a lot more courage to make the decision that our outer circumstances are not going to control the quality of our lives. It takes conscious effort to decide that we are not going to waste our life or lose sleep worrying about the million and one 'what if's' that could happen. It takes a strong sense of our own empowerment to reach out to others and help them through this difficult time.

Each one of us has a caring heart. Each one of us knows others who are doing it tougher than we are. Empowerment comes from within. What choices will you make today?

Here's another practical strategy that can stop you worrying unnecessarily. Consider the one biggest fear you have right now. Work out a simple plan of action that you will undertake should your fear or worst case scenario come true. Write your plan down and put it away. Then stop worrying. Many people focus on weight-loss diets - in my experience a negativity diet will deliver you better quality of life much faster!!

Your empowerment is right here, in this moment. It is not in the future. You cannot live in the future, so focus on now. Is there anything you can do right now to alleviate the potential for your fear to come true? If so, get to work!!

Early in 2009 I set aside one day to write my business plan for the year. I made it practical, realistic and I tailored it to the market conditions ahead. By writing this plan out, many of the 'irrational' fears I'd been carrying around in my head simply disappeared. I could see where the opportunities were for my business. I could see what to focus my attention and energy on. I could see how to best help my clients.

Interestingly, more opportunities have arrived for my business in the last month than for the last six months combined! If you want to thrive in the current environment, you must consolidate your time, energy and resources with clarity and focus.

The average Australian spends 2012 hours a year at work. If you're focused on self-empowerment, you can make that time more meaningful and productive than ever before. What or who can you build up? Where can you make the biggest difference? You are creating your future - make it a future to get excited about!

Re: Business Coaching Resources Re: Business Coaching Resources - You're fortunate when you can find a Business Coach who has experience beyond where you've been and even where you are going. When your budget is slim and even after, it's good to have a mentor. Several of various backgrounds are very useful. They can be teachers, professors, pastors, business people, family members, bosses and former bosses. You have to be clear on what you want and what you desire to achieve, be able to convey it as simply as possible. Stop and listen and don't over tax their time. You should always expect results whether from a Business Coach or Mentors. If you're not gtting results, you're either not focused or you need to upgrade the quality of your mentors/coaches. Always surround yourself by people smarter than you.

Business Coaching Internship Review Business Coaching Internship Review - I joined in during the first phase of the internship and at this point we are committed to doing research and development of RSC Business Group operating in Toronto. RSC Business Group already has products and services in Coaching Small businesses in Los Angeles but we didn't want to assume that the same products were wanted and needed in the Toronto market. Our goal at this point is to commit to interviewing 1000 business owners to capture this data. Through the teleconference internship I've been involved in we've been focusing on Communication Skills and on active listening which are practiced when we conduct our interviews and Coach our clients when they come on board. This is a lot harder than it sounds! Part of the internship is also creating the Toronto RSC Business Group's departments, job descriptions, Marketing and Communication plans etc that a business owner would create for their own company. This trains us in the way we would coach a company as well. The internship is phased in two parts and there is compensation plan involved as well for the clients you personally bring in. These clients are coached directly by Robert Chun as you begin but you are given a chance to learn his techniques. I haven't gone through this experience yet though. It's hard to explain Robert Chun's method of Coaching as it happens at a psychological level in his ability to listen and question the person being coached into the next steps they need to take. The Teleconferences are 2 hours long but it's very interactive. If you have a desire to explore this area of Business I'd recommend contacting Vwodek listed above and get invited to a Coaching Conference call. You can decided then if it's for you. Note: it is a commitment but the skills you walk away with whether you plan on working with RSC Business Group or not is invaluable.
Fed rate cuts . . . Fed rate cuts . . . - So just what do the newest Fed rate cuts mean to Franchise and Business Opportunity investing? Is it immediately felt? What timeframe do you think, or rather, where are we in terms of new vs. existing business investment? A similar question can be composed for the economic stimulus checks - will they a have any effect if consumers spend a little $$
