The pros (and a few cons) of hiring independent business auditors

The pros (and a few cons) of hiring independent business auditors
I recently read an article on the disadvantages of hiring an
independent auditor, and was surprised that the article didn’t mention
the advantages external resources can provide.
The article I read (at chron dot com) talked about disadvantages such
as an independent auditor taking time to get up to speed on the
business; the cost of an independent auditor being higher than salaries
of internal audit functions; the time it takes to find the right person
for the work; and fears around confidentiality.
I wouldn’t necessarily argue that these are legitimate
concerns. But, I would offer the following advantages in using
independent business audit resources in your audit plan:
1.) While it may take a little time for the external auditor to get
up to speed on your company, it is that very process, as the objective
external auditor learns the workings of your business, that enables the
auditor to see opportunities, risks, and solutions that may not be as
easily viewed by people closer to your company.
2.) Independent auditors are an excellent addition to an already
effective internal team, offering perspective and business input that
represents added value.
3.) Your business Strategic Plan often calls for resources not
readily available in your company and/or needed only for limited
periods, pre-empting hiring more employees. An independent auditor can
fill that gap for you.
4.) Professional auditors take confidentiality seriously, and help to
ensure that proper agreements are in place both internally and
externally as part of the audit process.
5.) Independent business auditors are trained in partnering with your
business, internal auditing team and you to reach your business goals.
6.) When you’re “in” your business, it is easy to get bogged down in
the day-to-day details, human resource management and other challenges.
An independent business auditor offers perspective and helps you to
realize your bigger vision.

- Just wondering what the pros and cons are to incorporate a business. I found in my research that there is more paperwork after the incorporation, e.g. filing minutes, etc. (I am in Canada). Can anyone tell me what kind of work is involved and what the pros and cons are?

Franchise Info Website
- I took a look at your website too and it has a wealth of info.
It seems that a priority would be to analyze the pros and cons of franchise ownership and to see if that's the right option for each person, their experience, goals, etc. Then I think your questions are great and would help a person making the initial decisions about franchising. Do you have a pros and cons questionnaire for potential franchisees on your site? Sorry, I didn't think about it while I was looking around.

I do not have an "all made" questionnaire for really analyzing the pros and cons but I have several articles that help you find out if franchising is for you or not.
If the moderator of this forum is ok, I'd like to post an extract from some of my articles everyone in a while in this forum.

you are right, one needs to be under guidance of experienced person before starting own business so that he knows all the pros and cons of that business beforehand.
The person should need to know his interest area before that, as one can excel in the field in which he has interests and zeal to work on it.

- I was reading an article on the pros and cons of shared web hosting. One of the cons was that it was a lot slower than say, a dedicated sever. So, I was wondering for those of you who are on a dedicated server, have you experienced faster load times compared to when you were on shared hosting?
Would love to hear your input on this. I eventually plan to move my sites over to dedicated hosting, so any thoughts and overall input on how you like it would be great. Thanks!
