Re: How can I promote my site? - [quote="smithndavis":2qlpkdk9]Do following to promote your site : 1) Use SEO techniques 2) Use more backlinks 3) Get a Google Sitemap on your blog to help to get it fully indexed 4) Participate in Related Forum Boards 5) Convert some of your existing articles into podcasts[/quote:2qlpkdk9] Again, I agree with all these. The fifth point is especially good, I think. I'd add that you can also turn your articles into videos and post them on YouTube and other video sites, and then embedding them in your blog.
Re: A Tip to Increase Traffic Re: A Tip to Increase Traffic - If you are not familiar with what podcasting is, here's an official definition from the Wikipedia.org website: a series of audio or video digital-media files which is distributed over the Internet by syndicated download, through Web feeds, to portable media players and personal computers. In layman's terms - it is an audio recording that is made available to internet users through websites and other digital outlets. You'll want to be sure to get listed in major podcast directories. One example, Podcast.net or Apple's iTunes store. Be sure your title is very eye-catching. You may have the perfect audio topic, but if your title reads "first of my podcasts, come listen" who would be enticed to even click the link? This title says nothing about what you can offer the listener.

When I learned I would need a business plan I panicked and put the idea to bed. Two yrs later the idea was aching to be born so I studied and researched and wrote my own bp. It took me only 3 wks from start to finish complete with all financials. When I took it to the SBDC the counslors were floored that I'd it myself with no canned templates or software. They loved it and sent me to local banks for funding. The loan officers I met with were thrilled that I came in with a complete, formal business plan. They said they were appalled at the number of people that walk in asking for loans to start a business and they didn't even bother with a bp. Since then I have always written my own business plans. When searching for franchises I wrote a bp for each franchise I was interested in to have cold hard facts in hand and know which was the most viable. Handy little things those dreaded business plans...
