How to Persuade Visitors to Become Customers with Screencast

Online software marketing is not as the same as running a real department. People may come to your website through search engine, make a quick browse and decide to buy or leave. No face-to-face communication or deeper interaction. So how to make people stay and persuade them to try your product or service in two minutes becomes the key to the successful online deal. Nearly all software websites make pages of descriptions to promote their software to visitors. It is reasonable because every software developer wills to gather more users of their software. But have you ever considered the conversion rate of your persuasion? Have you ever tried the following ways to promote your software?

Images tell more: adding pictures

For the reason that many programs need to be installed before operating, it is quite important to let visitors know what your software looks like ASAP. Capturing screen for your software by pressing PrtScrn button and pasting them to MS Paint to do some editing will be a good idea. Prepare a group of screenshots of your software and make them a slide show. You can add a short description for every picture to emphasize the main features of your software.

Tips: Do not try to tell everything but just hit the key point. Sometimes photo editing can save a lot of time for explaining in text.

Broadcast yourself: making movies

It is quite suitable for any software developer who likes to share his show time. Since people can hardly know you just by visiting your website, making an introduction movie of yourself is cool to boost the sense of trust to visitors. You need a camera to record the show, and with Windows Movie Maker, you can make further video editing.

Tips: Keep your movie short. Majority of visitors won't have too much interest on your self-introduction video since you are not a Hollywood star.

Impressive presentation: creating screencast

Screencast guides people or rather brings them to experience your software visually. Within 5 minutes you can tell people the features of your software and what benefit your program can bring to them. Compared with introduction movie, visitors can know better about your program. If the screencast hits the point of visitor's interest, it can directly increase your sales.

Tips: Screencast can also be used as a demo creator for presentation of your software. Screen recorder with video editing feature can easily handle under this situation.

More convincing: showing samples

If you consider that a movie is costly and a screencast is not engaging enough. Let's make something more interactive. Put the created samples onto the website and let people know what they can get by using your software. It is mainly used in the software which can generate files that can be presented online. For example, the Flash quizzes created by quiz software can be uploaded online for users to take quizzes. Inviting people to experience your program can add bonus of persuading them to buy it.

Tips: Listing customers' samples makes people feel more reliable. If you are not permitted to embed the video to your site, you may give a link to your customers' page.

Don't complain about why your product page gets a high bounce rate. Check out whether you have made a proper deal with visitors in communication and interaction first. By making a better introduction page to promote your products with pictures, movies, screencasts and samples, you will get deeper understanding of the importance of online software marketing. People around you have already started their movement, how about you?

Re: Has anyone bought targetted visitors? Re: Has anyone bought targetted visitors? - Most "Targeted Visitors" do not look for your site or intend on going to it. Most of the vsisits are generated through popups and popunders. Some of the targeted visitor sites allow you to create an online add that people can click and go to your site but I have never heard of anyone getting so much as a newsletter signup from them. I think it would be more productive to take the money you would spend on guaranteed visitors, guaranteed signups, buying leads etc. and use it to advertise on some of the higher page rank websites related to your industry.
Re: pitching Re: pitching - Friendliness is closely related to the concept of "permission marketing" as articulated by Seth Godin. The subtitle of his book says it all: "Permission Marketing: Turning Strangers into Friends and Friends into Customers." The old method was "interruption marketing" where you suddenly get an ad in your face whether you want it or not...
