Ensuring Success for Florist Business
Question from a Client...
We have finalized our business plan for our florist business against a tough business environment which we foresee will be around for the next 3 years. A strong workforce structure is crucial for our success. Can you advise what we need to do to ensure we have a highly vibrant workforce?
The Coach's Answer...
Firstly, you need to determine what you want your workforce to achieve, which will in turn help you to have a visual picture of the kind of workplace needed. Once this is clear, identify the competencies that are critical to support this. In your case, these may be : teamwork, creativity, passion, results-oriented etc. Then you determine the size of the workforce, the positions, responsibilities and their abilities.
The Bottom Line..
Get your people right the first time as it is too expensive for trial and error.
Powerful Questions:
- What kind of results do you want out of your people?
- What do they need to do?
- What do they need to have?
- What is the minimum number required?
- What are the job positions?
- What abilities are required for each of them?
