Getting Feedback from an External Coach
The client shares the following:
I am the CEO of a fairly large manufacturing plant. Being a self-made man, I have relied on my business instincts and the years of working experiences to guide me, my business and the company. How can a coach help me further?
This is what the Coach says...
The fact that you ask could mean that you have reached a point in your life where it may be a lonely place for you at the top.
One possible area for you in coaching is to seek out a coach who can give you objective feedback (without fear or favour) on your leadership practices, business decisions and on those initiatives that you are planning to take.
Although your people can provide you with all these, try to get external help for you may get to hear other important things that they may not want to tell you till now.
Powerful Questions:
- Are your peers or subordinates in the best position and are "free" to advise you on the things that most impact you and your business?
- How certain are you that you heard it all?
- How important is it for you to get more new and fresh perspectives on the way your business is being run?
