Solidifying Your Company
Question for the Coach:
I am the CEO of a publishing house. I got here because of my strong journalistic skills and the contacts that I have built over the years. Business is good and the company is expanding. The downside is I am beginning to see the cracks on the wall caused by internal conflicts, discipline issues, high expenses, etc. What areas do you think I should be working on to solve this?
The Coach says...
Obviously, there is a lack of proper structures and processes to manage your organization. Structures are the glue that keeps everything in place and the processes are the pathways upon which people and other valuable resources flow through in orderly and highly effective ways.
They facilitate goal achievement because they clearly communicate to all on how thing are being done and they can bond people together because that's the common language that everyone understands.
Powerful Questions...
- What are the critical systems that your organization needs for the achievement of your corporate goals?
- What are the processes for each of them?
- What are the roles of your people for each of them?
- What are the key activities for each of these roles?
- How can you communicate this clearly and get their cooperation?
