Change Is Not a 4 Letter Word

Businesses and industries do not change unless a significant force presents itself. There are significant forces at play now, like an economic downturn. Maintaining the status quo presents significant risks. There is no longer validity in saying "If it aint broke, don't fix it."

Surviving in these turbulent times means one may need to either do things differently or do different things. It is not necessary to try harder doing the same things. Instead, don't conform, but challenge everything in your routine and change the way you think.

"We have always done it this way" must be replaced by "How can we do it better?"

To succeed in today's environment, you need to constantly improve and reinvent yourself and the way you do business.

We need to change. Uh oh, "But change is hard" you say. Resistance to change is common. Here are some issues to address to successfully implement the changes you want in your organization:

At the core of succeeding in today's environment is the ability to constantly improve and reinvent the way we do business. The key to working smarter is knowing the difference between motion and direction and the difference between activity and focused action.

Remember that Direction= Goals, and Focused Action= Results. Take focused action every day towards the goals that you have and you will get the results that you want.

Received my first Letter of Interest, What now? Received my first Letter of Interest, What now? - After blasting financial and VC firms with my executive summary, I have finally received my first Letter of Interest. I'm really excited that my work is finally starting to show results, but that makes me all the more cautious. The terms aren't very good, give up a little less than half of the company for less than a million dollars of funding. It also says I'll basically have to do what they say so they can 'protect' their interest. So my question is, how open are these letters of interest to negotiations? I really appreciate any information/advice from anyone who's been through the process so I don't sign up for something I will regret. Thanks!
Re: Spellcheck? Re: Spellcheck? - [quote="TheAnonymousMan":2f894q6j]When discussing the majority of people I would definitely say that most people hit the "Change" or "Ignore" button without thinking too much about the correct spelling of a word. All bosses are concerned about is getting the report to the Directors meeting on time.[/quote:2f894q6j] That probably depends on what the "majority" are trying to accomplish. I have word set to alert me about misspellings and grammatical problems, so I fix most as I go. But I also add names etc to the dictionary because I get tired of seeing the red and green squiggles when I know the info is right. If you're only going to click "Change" or "Ignore" then why bother to take the time to use spell check????? Business people that I work for want the info compiled in a timely manner and they want it right - which is fine because that's the way I strive to do any project. Sending out a memo, letter, report etc with obvious spelling and grammatical mistakes makes the person and the company look bad as far as I'm concerned. Shri
