Revolutionize Your Business to Keep up With Rapidly Changing Trends

Our business environment is rapidly changing, especiallyin the Saratoga/Albany, NYarea. The decisions you make are based on information and facts currently available. Should new and relevant facts present themselves, you will want to evaluate them and grow to meet the challenge of the changing situation.

To help you along that path, here are some new facts:

The jobs that come with AMD will be a tremendous boost to upstate NY's economy. The Saratoga/Albany region is becoming the place to be for high tech in this century.

Charles Shumer said in 2006 that landing AMD holds the potential for transforming the regional economy. If you look around, you can see that it's true. And it's not stopping any time soon. That's a fact.

This is transforming what used to be a manufacturing based economy to be a high tech economy. This is real economic development and is something much larger than just a chip fabrication plant. There will be the creation of thousands of jobs, development of many, many ancillary businesses and services, and the local economy is going to be enriched in a way that you most likely have never seen before in your lifetime. That's a fact.

This region is going to see growth not only of jobs but with billions of dollars. As a business owner, you need to prepare for that growth by evaluating your strengths and making decisions about how you fit into the fast growing tech valley movement. That's a fact. Regardless of the business you are in, you are now faced with a myriad of new opportunities and you must decide how to best take advantage of them.

A great deal of our region's success is going to come from growing your existing business. Your ideal as a business owner is to become more innovative and productive so that you can better compete and capitalize on this incredible economic engine. That could mean implementing Sustainability as a business model.

A sustainable organization is one that:

- Has the ability to not only survive but thrive in today's economic times and,

-Is able to forecast the wants and needs of the future.

This is creating a new normal.

It's up to you to determine what your new normal will be. As a business owner, you may need to do things differently. The Capital Region is changing rapidly. Are you ready to take advantage of these changes?

You need someone that can help lp you create the culture in your organization where you are exceeding your customer, social, economic, political, and environmental demands, while taking into account how to capitalize on what is occurring in our local world today and into the future.

Don't wait to start thinking about this.Seize the moment!

How She Does It How She Does It - Interesting to see what are the most popular threads in this folder, judging by how many hits each thread gets. There must be a lot of moms out there who want to start businesses. I'm currently reading How She Does It: How Women Entrepreneurs are Changing the Rules of Business Success, by Margaret Heffernan. Some interesting statistics: Between 1997 and 2006, privately held businesses owned by women grew at 3 times the rate of all American privately owned firms, women's companies are creating jobs and growing profits at twice the rate of all firms and are responsible for more payroll than all of the Fortune 500 companies combined. This book tells the stories of a few women who have made it big...recommended reading so you know that "you can do it, too."
Re: "Diversity" Is Costing Us Dearly! Re: "Diversity" Is Costing Us Dearly! - Hi WendyGirl33, Thanks for this post. This is your 2nd post, not many have made such an impressive contribution to start with. Excellent. What can we say about this subject and be constructive. One thing is sure, nothing stays the same for ever. Trends change, fashions change, peoples perspective change etc. In fact we can never exhaust the continous changes that take place all around us. Many of the changes happen without us recognizing it until later; sometimes too late to stop it, if need be. PS, English is my second/third language. If you can write the above better, please do it an let me know. I want to learn to write better and better.
