9 Secrets to Network Marketing Companies - Which One Do I Pick?

I'm going to assume you're looking seriously at joining forces with one of the thousand of network marketing companies. You want to work from home and obtain financial freedom, but you're just not sure that you want to jump into something you don't really know anything about. You don't want to be like the 97% of individuals that drop out of their network marketing company because they jumped in with their eyes closed. If this is you, then congratulations for doing your homework!

Get the answers to these questions:

1. What's the cost?

Make sure you understand exactly what you’re getting for your money. You should not only be receiving product and services, but your training should be included. Follow your gut and decide if it makes sense. Don't fill your garage up with a bunch of marketing materials and products that you aren't going to use.

2. What is the company's business model?

Direct Sales via network marketing is the best business model because it gives you the greatest potential with the lowest costs of entry. MLM, franchises, consulting or business start-ups will all have more costs upfront.

3. Is the compensation plan fair?

Of course, "fair" means different things to different people but the bottom line is that if you are going to be marketing a product for commission, you want to be earning a high commission bonus upfront as well as a residual income on the back end. You should be making 40% - 50% in commissions; anything under 25% is not worth your time and effort.

4. Are you passionate about your product or service?

If you don't believe in your product why would anyone else. Ask yourself, "would I still use this if I weren't selling it?" If yes, then your enthusiasm and belief will come through in your marketing and your chances of having great results are high.

5. Does the opportunity provide a worthy mentor?

Is this person someone you can trust and has a system? This has to be someone who is willing to listen to your needs and actually cares about your success. He/she must also have a financial interest in your success.

6. What is their Marketing Training?

Most of the old techniques still being taught by network marketing companies just do not work. If their system of marketing is for you to sit down and fill out a form of 100 of your closest friends and families, run! There are extremely effective techniques that are available today for bringing customers to you.

7. How is the training delivered?

The training should be step-by-step and easy to follow and duplicable. You will be on a very steep learning curve and you will want to be able to have live as well as recorded/video training available.

8. What is the support available?

You should have access to help day or night. What is the response time of the support, it should be within 24 hours of your request.

9. Is the business prepared to expand?

A good indicator of this is if the product can be shipped or delivered all over the world. If so or if they have active plans in that direction, that's a good sign.

Rate them on all on these points before you decide. There are very few network marketing companies that meet all these criteria, but some do.

Why do people hate Network Marketing / MLM? Why do people hate Network Marketing / MLM? - I've been looking at a number of different opportunities and end up meeting a lot of Network Marketing / Multi-Level Marketing people. Some of the offers look interesting but everyone I talk to about it says to avoid these guys like the plague - what's the deal? Why do people hate network marketers and MLM people so much? Is it not legit?
Re: MLM Marketing, youtube, and buzzirk mobile. Re: MLM Marketing, youtube, and buzzirk mobile. - I have experience with MLM too. My initial reaction to the business was "snake-oil salesman" but once I got to understand the "overall business model" I am now an advocate to it. MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) is also known as Network Marketing. I realized an MLM business is no different than any other business. One needs to focus on both words "Network" and "Marketing" and give both equal respect. Some people focus heavily on the Networking part but forget "Marketing". I've started to use Building on a Budget and Magnetic Sponsoring concepts in my NM business and have found that people don't get involved so much because of the product but more because of what you bring to the table as far as marketing systems and support. I have both products listed in my signature. you don't have to buy it as the link to the free videos itself provides you a good understanding of what is required to position yourself as my above paragraph. If you do plan on purchasing it I can tell you that the measly $40 will open your eyes BUT your upline will not be too happy (atleast in the short term) beacuse the system is not duplicateable. I wrote this post as a polar post to Bulmer's reply as I have exhausted the friends and family networking and realized i never really focused on marketing. My leads now are more qualified and open to hearing about my opportunity than the other way around. my 2 cents if you plan on growing an MLM or Networking Marketing business.
Re: Management Processes? Re: Management Processes? - Great question Aaron. Like you and Kevin have indicated, we can get a lot done by creating a management process. I like to: Prioritize what I need to do in order of importance. Pick the top priority item. Brainstorm possible tasks. Pick a task and complete it. Move on to the next task. I find this helps break things down into manageable pieces. It also helps just to take small actions. [Link removed by forum admin]
Network Marketing Business Network Marketing Business - Hello all, Recently, I had join a Network Marketing Business on a part-time basis. Does anyone here who has some knowledge on this type of business? I want to learn as fast as I can from all the gurus here
10 best franchises to get involved 10 best franchises to get involved - My advice is: 1) Go to the library and start reading business books (accounting, finance, etc.) 2) Go to your local community college and enroll in night classes 3) Join the local Chamber of Commerce 4) Network / Network / Network -- through the above sources. Once you have spent two years doing the above, then look for a 55 - 60 year old business person that is looking to reduce their time in the business. Then you can work on a sweetheart financing option.
