Does this internet business really work or am I going to waste my time ?

Most people that are exploring internet based business opportunities has been disappointed a few times. They have tried numerous opportunities, spend countless hours and lost huge sums of money in the search for that perfect opportunity. It is true that the internet are full of scams,"get rich quick" and schemes. It is your responsibility to do your due diligence before you get involved with any business. The easiest way to do that is to do a search on Google and see what people have to say about it. Also check out the business on the Better Business Bureau website. It will generally be listed there as a scam if it is one. Once you have identified an internet business that is legit and something that you want to be involved with ,then you would need to make some sort of commitment to yourself and to your new business in order to make it work. You will waste your time and your money if you don't make some sort of time commitment i.e that you are going to spend 4 hours per day working your business for at least 12 months. The biggest mistake that most people make is that they try everything and anything on the internet. They spend a few hundred dollars and a few hours on each one. That leaves them with empty pockets ,lost hours and a skeptical attitude towards any business opportunity. Internet business are exactly the same as any non internet business. It takes weeks ,months and even years to become profitable. It also takes time and requires some sort of investment. The question is : what are you willing to put towards your non internet based business in terms of time and investment ? Treat your internet based business with same mindset and chances are 99% that it will work for you.But if you are going to try internet based opportunities for a few days or weeks, then rather don't do it at all.The key here is to make a commitment and stick to it,no matter what.

Re: Anyone Uses Elance.com? Guru.com? Rentacoder.com? Re: Anyone Uses Elance.com? Guru.com? Rentacoder.com? -
One of the issues is that their revised fee schedule penalizes people who bid on a lot of projects. I don't need a lot of work to pay the bills, but Elance needs to work on the vast number of projects that are posted, but never happen. I've suggested that they offer some kind of instruction to people who post jobs. I've talked with more people on there that have no idea how to ask or answer questions and so they simply abandon the project. I don't know about others, but I put significant work into coming up with a realistic bid and its a shame to waste the time searching and bidding only to have many of the projects left open. Easily 80% of the jobs I placed bids on - appeared to never be completed. That's a BIG waste of time and effort. Shri[/quote:20i29h8l] Hi Shri, I agree that it can become a waste of time, and it's a shame that so many projects go unfinished. I guess we'll just have to look for other avenues to find work, like some that were suggested. Alan
Re: Is A Business Plan A Waste Of Time? Re: Is A Business Plan A Waste Of Time? - I don't see a business plan a waste of time. Actually it's a great goal-setting tool for a business and it also helps evaluate a business' performance which allows the business owner to see where the business is going. Others say that it is only important when seeking funding from lenders or banks, but I believe it is more than that, that's why I have mine written and it's a work in progress since I first started in business.
Re: Dropped Out Of School To Startup! Re: Dropped Out Of School To Startup! -
I also like to teach my students that school is only a waste of time if you see it as a waste of time. It's a self fulfilling prophecy. Like with anything, you only get what you put in and if you don't put in an effort/try your best and leave your ego at the door (i.e. you think you're smarter than the teacher/professor and can't learn anything new or practical), then you'll also leave with nothing.[/quote:88mkirnr] Exactly. It comes down to each individual. What may seem easy, fun, interesting, etc. to one person, may be totally lame and a waste of time to someone else.
Re: How To Use Free Promotions For Your Internet Business? Re: How To Use Free Promotions For Your Internet Business? - David makes a good point here, there are many internet marketers who are trying to build their businesses part time and internet marketing is a pretty time consuming job if you want to do it for free or very little cost. I think that one needs to work out the amount of capital they have to invest in their business versus the time constraints they have and then outsource some of the tasks that consume the major part of their time. Team, Need your Help . . . . Team, Need your Help . . . . - Hi All I'm not sure if this is the right section to post this but: My new ecommerce site was finally launched on Monday March 15. I realize it could take off in a week or a year. This is my first time in ecommerce and I have been doing alot of work on the internet and I got to thinking . . . 1- I want to have an income as I'm building and I don't mind 20 hour days . I'm on the computer all day and I see the majority of us work in cyberspace and are successful. I Trust you all. I have checked out the internet to see what I could do but I don't know whats real and who to trust.I know I can trust our team. WITH THAT SAID:Does anyone know of an internet business that with hard and diligent work would generate an income pretty fast? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Warm regards Barry
