That is arguably the most asked question to me as a professional internet marketer.The answer is easy. The same amount of time that it takes to build any other business.Some people might get lucky and make it faster BUT you should prepare yourself for at least a few months or even years. Some internet based companies claim that you can get rich in a few weeks.That is not true. Do not ever fall for that.If they claim that,simply close your browser window and search for the next option. The thing with an internet business is that you need to do some sort of marketing in order to obtain leads that will convert into sales.As with any other business ,you first need to brand yourself,build a relationship with your customers and get leads before you can expect your first sale. This process does take time ,hard work and dedication.The good news is that all of these leads and relationships grows over time. The longer you can stick it out,the more successful you would be on the internet.Most people make the mistake of giving up on their internet business just before 'profit time' The best thing to do is to 'forget' about how much profit your money your business is making in the first six months.Im not saying that you should be reckless.Im suggesting that you rather put all your effort into your business doing marketing instead of using that energy to monitor your profit performance all the time.You will get demotivated and you will quit if you focus on the wrong things and if you are only in it for quick money. Most people make the mistake of giving up on their internet business just before 'profit time' Allow yourself and your business at least twelve months and you might be surprised of what you have build up without you noticing it on the day!

How will an african make money truely on the net? - Please permit me to be bais as regards this topic but it is pain in the heart for me and many others. Internet is a worldwide thing but if anyone wil notice that it is very difficult to make money on the internet for an african people due to segregation and discrimination in the world of internet. If you are an africa infopreneur, you have your product or you are affiliate to a company, you cannot easily get money due to the problems the internet payment processors company would pose to africans. Take a look at e-gold for instance now, you cannot easily use them as a payment processor because many who have money in the account cannot access the money because you have to submit your tax id or something like that. Africans are not allowed to use paypal to receive money but can only spend. These are some of ways that africans are not allowed fully to operate well on the internet.

Omnivorelnk, i believe one of these days a company will spring up to meet this challenge and make internet a worthwhile for africans and other under priviledge.
Re: Is any one making money with twitter here? - I make no secret about my opinion that twitter is about one small step above worthless when it comes to getting quality traffic and actually making money from it. There are numerous other things that are much more worthwhile to do with your time that will create far better results for your business than twitter will. With that being said, if you really want to use your twitter account to actually make a little extra money then the services I have listed on my makemoneytweeting.com site are the best way I have found to do it. A few thousand followers and you'll probably get around $5 per tweet. Maybe more, maybe less. That is not much money at all but when you consider the services are free and you really don't have to do anything other than sign up and approve tweets, all of which takes about one minute, it becomes worth it. I think GT gave a very good explanation for his use of twitter. I personally don't fully agree with it for myself, but we all have our own methods and the beauty of having our own online businesses is that we can run them any way we want. In my opinion, twitter is a fad that has either hit its peak already or soon will (at least as far as internet marketers are concerned), and then it will be all but forgotten when the next "cool" thing comes out that everyone jumps on. In the mean time, I will still be utilizing the internet marketing strategies that have worked for years and won't be going away any time soon.

I think at one time, my home internet broke down for about 5-10 days... and while it was difficult to bear with at first, I think a person can be weaned off computer/internet usage. I wonder what's harder: quitting smoking or internet use?
