The number one reason why people fail with internet based opportunities is because they don't view it as a real business. Studies shows that it takes 3 - 5 years for a business to be profitable.Have you ever started an internet based business with that in mind ? People tend to think that anything online is a "get rich quick" system.There is not a single system out there that will make you rich quick. If someone claims that - stay far away.So the first step you would need to take to succeed with any internet based opportunity is to adjust your mindset from get rich quick to patience.You need to allow at least twelve months for your internet business to mature and to become stable.If you give up before that ,then chances are that you will never succeed in any internet based opportunity.You will give up each time prior to the break even and eventually the break through. The second thing is that it takes hard work.Once again ,if someone claims that you don't have to do much - stay far away.Every real business requires hard work.Internet based opportunities are just what the word says :opportunities.You still have to take an opportunity and work it in order to be successful.If you are going enroll into any internet based opportunity thinking that the system is going to make you rich,then you have something coming.The system alone can never make any money for you.If that was the case ,then people would have sold these systems for millions of dollars.It is only a system.You still need to follow and work the system in order to make profit from it. The short answer is YES.It is very possible to succeed with an internet based opportunity.However,you would need to have the right mindset. It is going to take time and it is going to take commitment and hard work.If you give up prior to working it for at least twelve months ,then you ARE going to loose money. If you stick it out for twelve months and you dedicate enough time to your internet business then chances are that you will succeed.

I feel the more you network and get to know people, not only are your marketing yourself but you never know what new opportunity knocks on your door.
How can I start home-based business? - I am not sure what you mean by home-based and how my story can help but my home-based business is my web design business. I can work from home and go out to meet my clients. These times (When I'm out) is the most 'dangerous', because if clients need some files or if something didn't get through email, I'll need to find the nearest internet hot spot (i bring my external hard drive everywhere) to service the client or come up with an excuse. initially it was difficult, working from home and starting up. work was scarce but I knew it was only in the beginning. after 5 months, I have quite a constant flow of work but still the cheques are not that regular but its getting there. I met other people who has started home-based business and they range from travel agents to company secretaries. hope that helps
