My Run In with a MLM Business Opportunity

Over the years I have been approached by people wanting to introduce me to a unique business opportunity called Quixtar. I looked into it online and became somewhat interested until I found out that it also goes by the name of Amway. I say this because I used to think that if a company has more than one name or if their constantly changing names then it must mean they're synonymous for doing sketchy business. I want to discuss in this article some of the products that Quixtar provides and the business opportunity.

From researching on the website and from speaking with a representative I see that this company mainly has three main products that they like to push and they are Nutrilite, Artistry and Ribbon. The Nutrilite product is a vitamin mineral and nutritional supplement. This pill is supposed to be taken daily to help provide the body with all the nutrients it needs on a daily basis.

The next product is more of a line called Artistry. I would say that it's used more for women in that it focuses on providing quality skin care and color cosmetics. These products are used to help enrich the skin and to make it look more healthy. The next product line is uniquely referred to as Ribbon. This ribbon line is actually a gift giving incentive program. This program can be used to provide gifts to family and friends.

These are all the products and lines that are being pushed by Quixtar but what they really push as a company is their unique business opportunity. This business opportunity allows for people to sell their products to the public and make commissions. However the commissions are not large until they can adequately assemble a team of downline people who produce so the original representative can earn substantial residuals off their work also.

The opportunity was interesting to me but I was not the one to have to build an enormous team and constantly harass my friends and family about joining. As a whole I think the company products are solid and that the business opportunity could be good it just needs the right person. It needs the individual who is willing to work really hard for 3-5 years in order to build their business. I didn't think waiting 5 years was good and building a huge downline was my thing so I chose another way called GPT marketing.

PADI: The Business of Diving Book Okay, so this book won't be of use to anyone who doesn't want to start a scuba store, but I did, and this book was of course invaluable to me in reaching that goal.
Franchising & Licensing Can Be The Same Thing - FTC Rule 436 defines franchising as anyone offering an Agreement that contains these 3 things: 1. Licensing a "Mark" - which can be a trade name, service mark, commercial symbol, slogan, etc. 2. In the body of the Agreement, there contains, significant controls and assistance. 3. The licensee is paying the licensor in excess of $500 within the first six months of the actual offering of the business. Licensing and Franchising can mean the same thing today. If you do not decide to franchise and comply with FTC Rule 436, you may be in violation of Business Opportunity Laws that exist in 24 individual States.
Franchising 'where to advertise?' - Great Forum. It took me a while to find you, but well worth the efforts... I'm launching a Business Opportunity and I have a few questions that I'm pondering. Mainly where to advertise and what online directories to target. directoryfranchise.com looks good, but I have no idea if they're worth the cost. They want 99.00-199.00 to list my site at up to 40 different listing sites. franchisegator.com and franchiseopportunities.com look solid... any suggestions? I'm currently devoting a significant amount of my time writing articles and plan to submit to the article directories. I'm already seeing good results from the few articles that I have released. My site is up and I have most of the puzzle pieces in place. Any comments on the site, and suggestions are welcomed. Thanks in advance.
