3 Keys to Internet Marketing Success

Internet Marketing has quickly become one of the most important skills to have in the 21st century for many obvious reasons. With the continued and staggering growth of the internet, entrepreneurs have no choice but to adapt to the current environment to achieve success. Such a rapid transition from traditional marketing in mediums such as newspaper, radio and television to the new industry standards of social media, content marketing and Pay-Per-Click marketing have forced marketers to learn new skills to remain viable. There are many positives and negatives due to this shift in marketing but for most part the benefits outweigh the negatives. The days of going through an advertising agency or a broker for your advertising needs are gone. Within a few short months any determined entrepreneur can achieve better results at a cheaper cost than old school methods of marketing. There are 3 critical components to achieving this success and without all three entrepreneurs are destined for failure.

•1) Leadership

Finding the proper leadership is important as this factor can determine the speed at which you achieve your success. Without proper guidance from either someone or a group that are succeeding in the skills that you desire to learn, you will be forced to go through a steep learning curve and essentially blaze your own trail. Although this can be done, many who attempt to create their own path to success end up frustrated at their need to overcome the many hurdles that could have been avoided by following the success of others. Although this is not the most important factor this can determine the speed at which you achieve your success.

•2) Dedication

When deciding to learn a new skill set you must approach your learning with a laser like focus. This focus is much deeper than committing to spend a few hours each day to learn the new skills you desire, it is a commitment to focusing all of your efforts, energy and thoughts towards your learning process. Too many will treat this as some sort of hobby or continuing education process when a mental commitment must be much deeper. To really achieve success in internet marketing you must dedicate and commit yourself to not just learning these techniques but mastering them.

•3) Determination

Although many would combine dedication and determination as one, they are NOT synonymous in this context. You see, to really master internet marketing you will undoubtedly encounter failure and frustration at some point in your journey. Success cannot come without them. No matter who you learn from or your level of dedication you will experience some degree of failure. But you must frame your failures as a part of the process and not the end result. I have known many successful entrepreneurs and each one have accomplished their goals based on their determination. Determination is the ability to rise above your failures to become what you desire. This is without a doubt the most important component in your success. Without determination nothing else matters. With determination, you can accomplish anything.

Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Re: Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Kevin, Like GT suggested, I also think you can add Internet Marketing as a sub category in the Marketing section and also a Social marketing as subcategory. Online marketing/internet marketing/online promotion are the same, and it will be best to use the common term - Internet marketing. I can't think about someone to moderate a Social Marketing category. We all use it, we all know how to make it work and we all have our own different experience with it.
Internet Marketing Conference on SLife Internet Marketing Conference on SLife - I've been trying to log in but it keeps crashing.. anyways.. a friend of mine in BC plans on holding Internet Marketing Conferences on SecondLife and have the same top internet marketers that would normally be in Live Internet Marketing conference speak. Income will be generated from admission charges, product sales during breaks, sponsor tables, etc etc.. Just to get the ideas flowing in your head that anything you can do in the real world can be replicated in SL. There is no planned date as of yet for this conference.
Re: Hi from a Manhattan coach Re: Hi from a Manhattan coach - Hi Julie, Welcome to the forum, it's great to have you here and thank you for telling us a little about yourself. You sound like a very enthusiastic person who likes what she does and in Internet Marketing that is very important and you also sound like a 'people person' which is great. Internet Marketing is time consuming and challenging but can also be extremely rewarding and hopefully profitable. I don't know how many forums you have signed up to but this is one of the best. The support and guidance you get here is what makes it the success that it is but as I am sure you know from looking at the side bar that there are many aspects of business that are catered for here which will help you along the way, best wishes, Mal.
Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? Re: How many mambers of this forum are also member of WF? - Hi Kevin, I have to agree with Tanny. All forums are unique in their own way, but doesn't mean that one is better than the other. What you might get out of one forum, you may not get from another. For instance, the WF focuses on Internet Marketing, while this forum focuses on Entrepreneurship. Each has their own set of benefits. I don't think you can really compare one to the other, unless of course they focused on the same topic. I have learned a lot from this forum, stuff I would never have gotten from the WF. With that being said, I've learned a lot from the WF, specifically since I need to know about Internet Marketing and running an online business. The addition of the Online Business forum here will help, and Jeff is doing a great job as moderator.
Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? Kevin's Case Study #11 - A New Forum Category? - Hi Everyone, 2009 is a new year and I'd like to create a new forum category to jazz things up! In the past, there's been some interest voiced about adding a "Social Media Marketing", "Online Marketing", "Internet Marketing" or "Online Promotion" category. I'll implement [u:1g2tv6tf]ONE[/u:1g2tv6tf] of those new categories, but can someone first tell me what the difference would be between the existing "Marketing" section and one of those new options mentioned above? Thanks
