Enjoying the Journey to Financial Freedom

Financial freedom means something different to every person. For some it is the ability to pay their monthly bills with a little left over to enjoy. For others, it means they have no debt at all, and for others it means to own a one hundred foot yacht. Whatever your definition, financial freedom represents a goal to be attained as you continue on this part of your life journey.

On our journey to financial freedom, we often become impatient and feel unfulfilled. We can waste time hoping for the future instead of enjoying our today. Though we need to keep our eyes fixed on our future goal, we should not lose sight of the beauty of our present.

There are little miracles happening all around you. Did you make your first sale? Did you get your first website up and running? These are major accomplishments, ones that should be celebrated. But if your focus is solely on the end, you will never enjoy the ride to get there.

If you started the life of an internet entrepreneur and took that first risky step, celebrate your determination and willingness to take this step toward your dreams. Not everyone will walk that path and you should be proud of your decision. As you continue in your journey, never forget the importance of your accomplishments and the excitement of when you first began.

Somewhere in the middle of the elation from beginning a new venture and the end goal of financial freedom we get stuck in a holding pattern. We can't go back because we have come too far, yet we feel so far from our goals. The trick to feeling fulfilled is to enjoy the present! Don't wait to be happy until you have reached your ultimate goal. Set small daily or monthly goals and pat yourself on the back when you achieve them. The journey is part of the excitement.

Regardlessof your definition of financial freedom, you will embark on a path to get there and it will take some time. If you don’t learn to enjoy the road to your goals, you can become disillusioned along the way and lose your motivation to continue. Try to remember the reasons you wanted to become an internet entrepreneur and learn to cherish every moment no matter how hard it seems. Before you know it, you will realize your dreams and you know what, when you get there it might not be as glamorous as you envisioned. The reason is because the entire journey actually is the goal, everything is intertwined. We often magnify things in our mind and by doing so we never truly enjoy the road to get to them. The reality is that your goals are happening right now, with every keystroke and client email, it is all taking place in your present. Take advantage of this amazing time in your life and remember that the journey truly is the destination.
