Death and Taxes ... And Change

Guest post by: Peter Pamela Rose

Article Overview: They say that the only things we have to do in life are to die and pay taxes. Actually, we don’t have to pay taxes if we don’t really want to. But we will have to die someday. And there’s something else that we have to do that no one puts on this list. We have to live through change. No matter what we do or don’t do – if we fully participate in a rich, fulfilling life or if we stay holed up in a room somewhere doing absolutely nothing. Change will be a constant companion, even if it’s just in the lines that time starts artfully drawing upon our faces. Helping us to navigate the waters of change in life and career is what a Professional Life Coach or Career Coach offers.

Death and Taxes ... And Change

They say that the only things we have to do in life are to die and pay taxes. Actually, we don't have to pay taxes if we don't really want to. But we will have to die someday. And there's something else that we have to do that no one puts on this list. We have to live through change. No matter what we do or don't do - if we fully participate in a rich, fulfilling life or if we stay holed up in a room somewhere doing absolutely nothing. Change will be a constant companion, even if it's just in the lines that time starts artfully drawing upon our faces. Helping us to navigate the waters of change in life and career is what a Professional Life Coach or Career Coach offers. When I asked Peter Pamela Rose how she helped her Life Coaching clients not only survive, but embrace change, this is what she said. "I remind them that they always have a choice in how they experience change. The choice is not in stopping change, because you can't, but in how you deal with it." Down to the cells of our body, we are in a constant state of change. Mentally we know this, and still change is at the very heart of our dissatisfaction and discomfort. There's absolutely nothing we can do about what is happening beyond our control. Peter, as a highly trained Executive Coach, urges those she works with to embrace the power of change as a normal process of life. While there is no taking control of change there is participation in it. We participate fully when we let go of our need to control and allow the current of life to flow.

As you work with Peter and learn that change really isn't the most horrible thing, you more than likely will reach a point in your growth where you choose change. In order to achieve goals, you have to change the way you've been doing things. Otherwise you would have reached your goals already. Peter coaches her clients to anticipate a period of discomfort. "When we want to change, we need to acknowledge that we will go through a period of time when it will be uncomfortable. It is during that period of discomfort that we change. When we lean into that feeling, we transcend from what we were and become anew." Leaning into change rather than backing away from it is another fundamental life tool Peter shares with her coaching clients. We can't escape change just like we can't escape death. It's probably best to accept it and have the most positive reaction to it that we can. Peter quotes Charles Darwin, "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change."

So in a nut shell, your survival depends on learning to embrace change. Tremendously successful Certified Life Coach, Career Coach, and Chiropractor For the Mind, Peter Pamela Rose, will help you not only to survive but to thrive and seek change in this ever-changing world we live in.

Re: Spellcheck? Re: Spellcheck? -
When discussing the majority of people I would definitely say that most people hit the "Change" or "Ignore" button without thinking too much about the correct spelling of a word. All bosses are concerned about is getting the report to the Directors meeting on time.[/quote:2f894q6j] That probably depends on what the "majority" are trying to accomplish. I have word set to alert me about misspellings and grammatical problems, so I fix most as I go. But I also add names etc to the dictionary because I get tired of seeing the red and green squiggles when I know the info is right. If you're only going to click "Change" or "Ignore" then why bother to take the time to use spell check????? Business people that I work for want the info compiled in a timely manner and they want it right - which is fine because that's the way I strive to do any project. Sending out a memo, letter, report etc with obvious spelling and grammatical mistakes makes the person and the company look bad as far as I'm concerned. Shri
hiring an employee hiring an employee - You may want to consider contracting out instead of actually hiring. Some factors to think about if you hire someone as an employee and you put them on payroll you will be required to pay CPP and EI, as well as deducting CPP, EI and Taxes from their paycheck and remitting them to Revenue Canada. So you will need to 1. Register with Revenue Canada so you can make the remittenances 2. make sure you keep really good track of these deductions 3. it you don't have the time to do payroll you may need to hire a bookkeeper. or you could contract out the hours that you would need an assistant. The would be able to work from their space or your office. There is another option that you might want to consider some of the community centers offers training programs for new immigrants or anyone wish to change professions some of these programs require that they offer their services for 6 or 8 weeks (no charge to the employer). If you need someone short term this may help you and provide extra training for someone else. Microskills is one of the Community Centers that offer such programs. they train customer service personal, bookkeepers.
Re: e-Commerce and e-Payment providers Re: e-Commerce and e-Payment providers - Hi GT It is only fairly recently that people in South Africa have been able to get full use of Paypal as we were only able at one time to make payments but not receive them. Fortunately this has now changed. I have received money through Global X Change for one of the affiliate programs that I promote and have found them pretty good as the money is normally transferred directly into my bank account within 2-3 days and I have not had any problems with them. Re: Obama Wants Social Security for Illegals Re: Obama Wants Social Security for Illegals -
Obama WILL make changes... but they're not the changes we as a country need or should look forward to.[/quote:3kaa8sg4] Sad but this is exactly how I feel about it. Change is coming - but unless I'm really wrong, it is not a change this country needs. Amazing how much a good speaker with a good speech writer can do. If you paid attention to the things he said "off script" - much of it is frightening. Chris
