Four Words That Make Life Worthwhile

Overthe years, as I've sought out ideas, principles and strategies to life'schallenges, I've come across four simple words that can make living worthwhile. First, life is worthwhile if you LEARN. What you don't know will hurt you. You have to have learning to exist, let alone succeed. Life is worthwhile if you learn fromyour own experiences-negative or positive.

Welearn to do it right by first sometimes doing it wrong. We call that a positivenegative. We also learn from other people's experiences, both positive andnegative. I've always said that it is too bad failures don't give seminars. Obviously, we don't want to pay them, so they aren't usually touring aroundgiving seminars. But that information would be very valuable. We would learnhow someone who had it all - messed it up. Learning from other people'sexperiences and mistakes is valuable information because we can learn what notto do without the pain of having tried and failed ourselves.

Welearn by what we see, so pay attention. We learn by what we hear, so be a good listener. Now, I do suggest that you should be a selective listener. Don't justlet anybody dump into your mental factory. We learn from what we read, so learnfrom every source. Learn from lectures. Learn from songs. Learn from sermons. Learnfrom conversations with people who care. Always keep learning.

Second, life is worthwhile if you TRY. You can't just learn. Now you have to trysomething to see if you can do it. Try to make a difference. Try to make someprogress. Try to learn a new skill. Try to learn a new sport. It doesn't meanyou can do everything, but there are a lot of things you can do if you justtry. Try your best. Give it every effort. Why not go all out?

Third, life is worthwhile if you STAY. You have to stay from spring until harvest. Ifyou have signed up for the day or for the game or for the project, see it through. Sometimes calamity comes; then it is worth wrapping it up and that's the end. Butjust don't end in the middle. Maybe on the next project you pass, but on thisone, if you signed up, see it through.

Andlastly, life is worthwhile if you CARE. If you care at all, you will get someresults. If you care enough, you can get incredible results. Care enough tomake a difference. Care enough to turn somebody around. Care enough to start anew enterprise. Care enough to change it all. Care enough to be the highestproducer. Care enough to set some records. Care enough to win.

Fourpowerful little words: learn, try, stay and care. What difference can you makein your life today by putting these words to work?

This is your opportunity to make the most important decision you will ever make. Forget your past. Who are you now? Who have you decided you really are now? Don't think about who you have been. Who are you now? Who have you decided to become? Make this decision consciously. Make it carefully. Make it powerfully. regards, Mal.

Re: Charge what you're worth Re: Charge what you're worth - [quote="Tami Szabo":292ze3jd]People will pay you what you ask. Very few will ever up the price. You are the one who decided what you are worth. The key is that we believe our services are worth the price we are asking.[/quote:292ze3jd] Hi Tami, You're absolutely right. In "Think and Grow Rich", Jessie B. Rittenhouse says "For Life is a just employer, He gives you what you ask, But once you have set the wages, Why, you must bear the task. I worked for a menial's hire Only to learn, dismayed , That any wage I had asked of Life, Life would have willingly paid" (Napoleon Hill 35). I think the same can be said when setting prices on eBay or Craigslist, especially when people are trying to haggle you.
