Guest post by: Linda Sage

Article Overview: Whenever January comes along we start the year with renewed vigour and optimism that this year we will stick to our resolutions and will do better than before!!!! That is fine until the first birthday, wedding, or celebration comes along and we have to face the fear of choosing to keep our best laid plans or choose the wine, starter, main course and pud!!!! The balance of the scales is there for just a moment…..then temptation, and our self talk kicks in, one night is not going to hurt…..I will be good tomorrow, how many times have we said that!!!!!

Food Pleasure or Pain?

Whenever January comes along we start the year with renewed vigour and optimism that this year we will stick to our resolutions and will do better than before!!!!

Well now thankfully Chefs and Restaurateurs have realised that this is a major issue and if you ask in any restaurant they will be able and willing to guide you in your choices. Having two courses is usually a good meal, lighter starter and heavier or creamier second, or calorie enriched first with a fish course will help restore your balance. A desert is always a luxurious way to finish off a meal, even if you really have not got a lot of room, so why not share one plate 2 spoons, can also be very romantic!!!

Time is also important, when eating a meal take your time, eat slower and savour the food, the chef has taken care to prepare a dish with a variety of flavours appreciate each one and then mix and match them, feel the textures in your mouth, you will be aware that you can feel much more satisfied when you take time to really enjoy a meal. It also gives your system time to digest food well, less possibility of indigestion, heart burn or feeling bloated all of which are a big bonus later on during the night.

Wine and champers with a meal are great they enhance flavours and lighten any atmosphere if taken in moderation or they can have the adverse effect!!!!! There are also ways of minimising the quantity you drink, use a smaller glass, or dilute wine with water or Casera both of which are calorie free, champers or Cava are excellent with orange or cranberry juice, or alternate a glass of wine and a glass of water. Alcohol has a dehydrating effect on the body and can cause severe headaches, dry mouth and cracking lips and tongue all very painful and totally preventable.

Eating, enjoying food and drink is all part of life, being healthy and eating well, do not have to be a chore, nor do they have to be difficult, making choices to help yourself getting into good habits will stop you dreading the next meal out…….or party…..or barby. Your body needs food and nutrients, we were not born to starve and our bodies do not function well that way either. With good choices you are able to eat well in or out and make the most of every occasion.

Re: What works for you? Re: What works for you? - If you love your work, then there is no pressure. So, pressure builds up when you work for someone else. Actually, Pleasure and Pain are both side of one coin. You need to have both in order to succeed in life. Take risks and rewards are higher. Take less risks, the rewards are less. So, understand your capacity and take charge. Thanks, Robert
Good Potential for Packaging Industry Good Potential for Packaging Industry - There are a lot of competitors, but I think there is huge potential for more cost effective recyclable packaging. Food packets, packing for products, all is growing industries, with competitive pricing its possible to earn little from these.
How Many Hours A Week Do You Watch TV? How Many Hours A Week Do You Watch TV? - About a year ago or so, I completely cut off my cable TV. Food Network was the only channel I miss but I really don't miss it more than I expected. News, Sports, you know, the stuff you thought be hard to miss out on, I never realized how unimportant they could be and my "selective ignorance" really hasn't hurt my life. If I want news, I could always turn on to the Internet. How about you? Warmest Regards, Takuya
Re: America's 9 Most Stolen Products Re: America's 9 Most Stolen Products - Hey Evan, I'm pretty surprised by some of the items on the list. Cell phones and small electronic gadgets are the normal items to get stolen in my area that I hear about. Food, especially meat and stuff, seems odd, but the reasons are understandable as Michelle pointed out. Meat is rather expensive these days, and I'm sure many have a hard time affording the meat they would really like to have. Those excuses are hilarious.
Re: Wordpress Password & Username Recovery Re: Wordpress Password & Username Recovery - Password protection continues to be one of the most integral parts of security in the modern age. Whether you're accessing your home through a keypad, your car through a keypad, your computer through finger print, or your files through alphanumeric passwords - remembering and ensuring access too all of these passwords is troubling. I think the future will see everything consolidate into one 'identification card', good for everything and anything you do. Service providers will need to provide this technology as the standard. Food for thought!
