Some Say Romance is Dead

In these days of crisis, and with the word recession on many lips, tightening the belt and reassessing the budget, along with the daily demands of a home, kids work, the spouse or significant other gets put way, way down the list of priorities. The days of sitting gazing into each others eyes and sitting quietly are a luxury that usually gets buried under the washing and ironing!!!!!

Daily life takes its toll on relationships and it is important to take time to nurture and grow, especially in times of “crisis”, as you need the foundations to be strong to weather the storms. Putting a little time aside for you is not a luxury, and here we are in the month of February with Cupid knocking on the door. Ready with his bow and arrows to help spark off a little romance, and fun.

Ok it may be argued that Cupid is old hat, but making a day a little special has never been a mistake. You do not have to spend a fortune, or go to the end of the earth, but good investment is always rewarded.

Looking at restaurants and their promotions, planning a night for you is a pleasure in itself. Maybe a surprise evening, somewhere you have wanted to go but never got around to. Looking at new types of cuisine, will give you both a break from the daily routine and open up a relaxing time; that so many people over time lose between them.

Cupid’s little arrow caught you once, remember the glow and warmth, times shared, and places visited. Many romantic memories also include food, as a meal and conversation often open the door to a deeper insight to your partner. Also, food heightens senses, the smells, tastes and textures all help to relax the body and bring a feeling of wellbeing. Add to this a comfortable atmosphere and maybe a singer or music to round off the evening, and then you have the ingredients of a very powerful cocktail.

Of course Valentine’s Day does not have to be on the 14th February, it can be every, or any day of the year, but this is a renowned date, so a good excuse for making this the first of many nights to remember.

If anybody has Mr Banderas’s phone number I am free for dinner that night!!!!

Re: The most common names on Facebook Re: The most common names on Facebook - Thanks Yinka, It's interesting to see that every one of the boys name is straight out of the English Bible, and the one girl's name is the Latin or Romance language version of Mary. David (2nd most popular name!)
Gardening reduces stress Gardening reduces stress - Hi Anon, In my case I think that my physical health does suffer - and I am pretty sure I am not doing a great job taking care of it. Finding the time to exercise seems impossible. The more probably reality is that I dislike going to a gym so it just isn't important enough for me to find the time. Mental health is different - I try to purposely set aside some time each week to recharge a little, sometimes it's a simple as going into my backyard and doing some gardening. Dead-heading flowers for about half an hour is pretty much stress free. If I really need a break I go to my cottage for the weekend - no cable, no internet and no phone.
Re: Recommendations for going Wireless Re: Recommendations for going Wireless - GT, I've used "Air Cards" from Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon. I've also use a Blackberry as an external modem. Like any device there are limitations. The down side to these devices is whether or not your computer is in a dead zone. As for getting onto the Internet via these devices, they do well, but there in again it depends on where you are at. Dead zones are common and can disconnect you from the Internet without warning. But just as quickly as you get disconnected your device can easily detect a signal and reconnect without you having to log back in. Now the bad news. Monthly rates are a huge factor for this convenience and do not provide any real savings. Check your local provider for packages and pricing.
