Thank You for the Music and Giving it to me

Guest post by: Linda Sage

Article Overview: Abraham, Martin and John…mmmmmm as the sounds of this song drift out of my computer (my techno skills are improving!!) and sink into my head, I am transported back many years to a dingy room (not that I thought that then), at the back of a pub, my introduction to discos, then I had to be home when everybody else was coming out, I lived in the middle of nowhere (so I thought) and the last bus went at 10pm. Can you imagine saying that to a youngster today!!!!

Abraham, Martin and John…mmmmmm as the sounds of this song drift out of my computer (my techno skills are improving!!) and sink into my head, I am transported back many years to a dingy room (not that I thought that then), at the back of a pub, my introduction to discos, then I had to be home when everybody else was coming out, I lived in the middle of nowhere (so I thought) and the last bus went at 10pm. Can you imagine saying that to a youngster today!!!!

Music is a very potent tool for memory, happy and sad we can often pin point where we were and who we were with, when we hear a piece of music or a song. It is really hard to imagine life without music and song, live music and shows are a very good way to lift your spirits at any time. We are lucky here on the coast to be able to hear live music almost everyday if we choose to. There are many bars and restaurants that offer a wide variety and also the local theatres and choirs. You don’t even have to be good at singing to enjoy it, my car is my haven, as there nobody can listen or complain!!!! But it makes the journey pass very quickly.

How easy it seems to open your mouth and let the sound come out, but we have all been in Kareoke bars when some people who think that they sound like Frank Sinatra but in truth are more like Kermit!!!! not make the best of the tune (not that I am one to cast the first stone!!!) There is a lot to be said for having a go…….or maybe knowing your limits??????????? Watching the X Factor really makes you realize that some people are deluded!!! But it is fun to watch……

The lyrics can be as beautiful as poetry and as weird and wonderful as the mind of the writer, maybe in the 60s and 70s depending on what they had been smoking or popping!!! But the songs are still well loved and many people are now copying them. Music can be an inspiration and there is nothing better than bopping about the lounge singing your lungs out, to the amazement of the younger generation!! hehe especially when they have friends in…..this is called payback time!!!

Billy Ocean, Supremes, Rod Stewart crank it up and a liberal serving of Elvis and Cher can earn you the house to yourself for quite a while, mission accomplished and time to enjoy it all the more.

During my time on the Costa Blanca, I have been known to frequent some bars and really enjoy the local entertainment, there is a lot to be said for a night with Eddie Wallace, or Greg, or Richardo , and Woody´s speciality is serenading me up and down the AP7 (mind you there wives do know about this!!!!) but they have all provided many nights of entertainment and enjoyment (albeit totally in public on the dance floor!!) not just for me but for many people and long may it last I say!!

Having music in our lives is a wonderful thing and very often we take wonderful things for granted, until they are gone then we miss them. So, we need to take stock and make the most of all the wonderful singers and entertainers that we have around us and make the most of the music that they give us to brighten our lives……….any excuse for a night out!!!!!!!

Giving extra value to a customer is a sure fire way to stand out and build your reputation as a unique service in an established market. regards, Mal.

Re: Urban market promotion Re: Urban market promotion - [quote="myownboss":38izvbws]This could be interesting - how can we learn more about your service?[/quote:38izvbws] Depending on what your particular product or service is, there are a number of possible vehicles. At this time, I'm working on an Urban Music related tour across Canada, which would be an interesting opportunity for an entrepreneur, company or business group to align their product or service with this concept. Fire me off an email to discuss this in more detail: info@soundsupremacy.com. Cheers.

Your Intial Mistakes Business Your Intial Mistakes Business - Hi, When I started my business I had made a lot of mistakes initially. These helped me in learning the art of the trade and today when I look back, I feel that these mistakes were quite silly. I had made my learnings then and those learnings have helped me time and again. Some of the mistakes I made were - i. Wrong Time Management ii. Wasting money on glossy Brochures and Business cards iii. Believing what they taught me at school was 100% correct iv. Giving too much when it was not required...... I would like to find out what have been your faltering moments in Business when you had started and what/how did they help you grow. Regards
