Start Your Own Successful Blog: Important Things You Must Know Now!

While creating a blog on the free WordPress or Blogger platforms doesn't take long at all, it's the actions you take afterwards that matter. If you want to have a blog that's well-known and appreciated in your field, then you need to do much more than everyone else is doing and set yourself apart.

Ensuring that your blog starts out on the right foot, is the only way to guarantee that it will attain sustainable success. In the present article, I will be discussing some suggestions on how you can ensure the successful launch and operation of your blog.

Provide the Help Your Readers Want: Your blog should never be thought of as just the site you built to earn you some money. But it's rather a way to build a strong relationship with your target audience by helping them out with various solutions to their problems. Even though you will still be focusing on finding traffic and posting great content, you must still find ways to get some viable solutions out in front of your readers to help them find what they need.

For example, you might have found some software that is particularly helpful to you in some way, so create a blog post about this so your readers have the option of using it for their own benefit. If you can offer this sort of help right from the start, your readers are more likely to learn to trust the advice you give.
Keep a Tight Leash on Your Comments: Spammy comments are one issue that every blogger has to deal with. Comment spam is a widespread, common problem, even though there are many plugins and tools that can help reduce the number of spammy comments. This is why the comments section on your blog needs close scrutiny, to ensure that no spam gets through.

You will also find you need to remove comments made by people who like to argue without any reason behind it and are also rude. The comments section of your blog is critical because that's where you can start building a relationship and interacting with your audience. But, be sure to consistently check in once in awhile. That should be sufficient to keep it under your control.

Ask for a Response: In order to constantly improve your blog and give your readers the kind of content they want, you should start asking for feedback from them right from the start.

Many new bloggers have this misconception that they need to wait till their blog is old before initiating any request for feedback. This is not the case. As a matter of fact, ask that your visitors leave comments at the end of all of your posts. This can be achieved by asking a question about your post. This will give your visitors the chance to get the informational content they came for and also leave a message regarding how they felt about that content. After all, everyone wants to be acknowledged.

Successful blogging does not materialize overnight. This is why you have to put in ongoing effort to develop, update and promote your blog from the very beginning. The tips that are talked about are not hard to do. But you will soon see that most beginning bloggers will overlook these suggestions when they first create their blogs. So, do something different and you are sure to become a successful blogger.

Cheers to your successful blog!

Re: What works for you? Re: What works for you? - Hi Yinka, I work better under pressure of deadlines when I am doing something for other people. However, I like to have the leisure to develop my own projects. The first case is what Stephen Covey calls a "Quadrant 1" activity ("Important and urgent") whereas the second case is a "Quadrant 2" activity ("Important, not urgent"). We should aim to make as much time as possible for Q2 activities so that we can develop our own projects. Easier said than done!

Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategy Re: Best Internet Marketing Strategy - Hi David, I agree about the Blogosphere. You have a smaller group that Blog, but do so on the premise that they think they should, but have never really considered the purpose of their Blog. Then I think there are a few SEO or Internet Marketing types that see Blogging as just another link building strategy. But the largest group of Bloggers, tend to be people who enjoy writing and discussing their topics of interest. Blogging is good for link building, but the true Blogger is a breed apart from the rest. They want to dialog, to debate, to have feedback and they are very willing to link to other worthwhile conversations that are relevant to their topic. I agree with you. These group of Bloggers obviously are passionate about their writing and together, they create huge conversation trails interactive and travel from Blog to Blog. But the evidence is clear with this group that loves what they write about. With comments enabled on a Blog and having a Blog tuned to a specific purpose you already have the evidence of original Social Media.
