What Makes A Good Website? Create Authority And Dominate!

The question, "What makes a good website?" is often asked. I feel building an authority site is the surest and best method to get all the right kind of attention you want online. When your site becomes an authority in a niche, new opportunities come forward and it becomes a lot easier to play the whole Internet marketing game. But what exactly should you be doing to make your site an authority?

Take Part in Social Media: The Internet is becoming highly social, which is actually good news for webmasters and Internet marketers. It's now easier than ever to quickly connect with your prospects. In order to effectively reach prospects in your niche, you have to take the time to communicate with them on social media sites.

It may not seem like it, but this is definitely one of the largest parts of what makes a good website. Be sure to take part in discussions, introduce your target market to your brand and share/give the best value that you can. If you establish yourself as a valuable contributor on these sites, you'll find that it can really pay off for you in the long run. There's no shortcuts when it comes to having an authority site, and you'll only get there by making the most out of several effective marketing strategies.

You can find authority sites with a hundred thousand pages of terrific content. People expect a lot from an authority site, and that's a fact. You will be putting yourself on the line; we just want to be clear about that. Your site must add a lot of valuable content because your target market must get the kind of useful information they are seeking. When you supply the people in your target market with what they need, it builds trust and they keep coming back. It builds from there and it gets better for everyone from there on out.

Another aspect of what makes a good website is commenting on well known blogs that are relevant to your niche. This builds links and adds leverage to your own site. Most of the people browsing these blogs are regular readers and if they like your comment, they will visit your site to learn more.

If you want to get the most from this tactic, you have to give a lot of thought to your blog comments and make sure they are high quality and relevant to the discussion.

Another important thing you have to now take into account is that you avoid linking to any sites of a questionable or dubious nature. Linking to and getting backlinks from high quality sites within your market is the best approach here.

In time, most of your traffic will be derived from organic search. Therefore you do not ever want to knowingly link to sites that are dubious in nature. If you should do it without really knowing it, in time you will see the effect and should be able to remedy the situation.

These are all tips which will develop over time. But, they are the truest answer to the question, "What makes a good website?" There are no shortcuts. These are things which all will develop over time. But now you are aware of them and you just need to continue working on them, connecting with others on a consistent basis.

You will continue building links, relationships and you will continually be adding quality, valuable content to your site. This is what makes a good website. This is what creates valuable connections and this is what makes your site an authority in the marketplace. Continue on this path and you will soon dominate your niche. All the best to you on building an awesome website that is worth visiting and coming back to.

Q&A: What are your tips for creating a successful blog? Q&A: What are your tips for creating a successful blog? - Q: What are your tips for creating and maintaining a successful blog? Hi Ayaan - here are 7 suggestions for you: 1) Focus on a niche - pick an area that you're an expert in and are interested in and stick to that niche. 2) Create pillar content - write a number of posts that are evergreen and interesting. If a new visitor checks out your blog it should be easy to quickly find your pillar content and get them interested in reading more. 3) Create a list - give an incentive to readers to subscribe to your blog by entering their email address. This way you can turn one time visitors into lifetime readers. 4) Have a regular posting schedule - bloggers often post like crazy when they first start a blog and then their schedule fades. Don't start with too many posts and create a schedule that you can't stick with. 5) Build linkbait posts - timely posts that use infographics, top 7/10/50 lists, newsworthy topics, etc can generate a lot of attention and links to your blog. 6) Tweet it out - whenever you post, tweet about it so your followers know to check out your new entry. 7) Engage other bloggers - comment on other blogs that are in your niche. If you focus on adding value then the bloggers will notice you and their readers will also click through to your site. Good luck!
