The Issues Related To Being Self Employed

The goal of being self-employed is actually quite possibly inborn to anyone who's currently employed. The thought of getting the creative freedom necessary to develop successful marketing and advertising strategies is possibly just about the most frequently reported factors as to why an employee would much rather prefer to be their very own employer. One other reason is the fact that the connection between manager and personnel has broken down at some level and the employee knows that a number of needs have not been attained and most certainly will stay unfulfilled while working for the business. Yet self employment per se can be somewhat a two edged blade and not everybody is prepared for this way of earning a living. For anyone who is contemplating this move in order to work from home and take off the shackles that corporate work is starting to become to you, think very long and hard to determine if you are truly ready.
There are a number of challenges that comes with being self employed, and possibly the biggest hurdle a newcomer faces is his or her own self. Possessing a desire can be simple; yet making this dream a reality will take a certain level of discipline. Many personality types are perhaps unable to transform from answering to a boss to answering to themselves but still remaining equally motivated. Furthermore, lots of personality types that benefited from the buffer their employer provided in regards to interactions with clients or even customers, will definately have their patience tested when a fresh customer severely questions the marketing strategy you present to them. Particularly if you are working in an imaginative field, a few of these criticisms can seem like personal attacks or even personal rejection, making this type of job almost tougher than holding a job for somebody else.
Another challenge you might face is the issue regarding who'll financially support your endeavor. After all, it is not enough simply having a great concept. You likely usually have bills, children to provide for, and if nothing else the daily things that will have to be fulfilled. The main problem related with this particular phase is often the fact that a lot of a newcomers will use a credit card in order to get established. Yet the challenges do not stop there. How much liquidity you have got from the onset will also decide your overall success given that it determines whether or not you can live due to the fact that a couple of your clients takes a very long time to eventually pay you. If one or possibly even more slow consumers might cause financial problems to the extent that you need to touch your retirement savings or home equity, you might not yet be ready for self employment. It is vital to begin being your own boss in a position of strength, not weakness.

Young Entrepreneur Young Entrepreneur - I'm fifteen and last year, when I was fourteen I owned a motor sports marketing company. So yes, I do feel last year I was a "Young CEO." This year I'm getting more involved in investing. I assume I am now a "young investor." And for everyone's reference, there are four types of people in this world: 1.)The Employed 2.) The Self Employed 3.) Business Owners 4.) Investors The difference between the self employed and business owners is that business owners can leave their company for one year and come back and find that it is more profitable than when he/she left. A self employed person is like a Doctor or Dentist.
Re: How can I promote my site? Re: How can I promote my site? - [quote="smithndavis":2qlpkdk9]Do following to promote your site : 1) Use SEO techniques 2) Use more backlinks 3) Get a Google Sitemap on your blog to help to get it fully indexed 4) Participate in Related Forum Boards 5) Convert some of your existing articles into podcasts[/quote:2qlpkdk9] Again, I agree with all these. The fifth point is especially good, I think. I'd add that you can also turn your articles into videos and post them on YouTube and other video sites, and then embedding them in your blog.
Marketing Product Suggestions? Marketing Product Suggestions? - Hello Forum members! I've been recommending a Jay Abraham book to my readers but he recently closed the affiliate program. Does anybody have any marketing e-products that they recommend? It has to meet the following criteria: * Good quality information - no clickbank products that can't personally vouch for the info inside * Related to sales / marketing * All encompassing - not just e-mail marketing, or PPC advertising - it should cover a broad area * Ideally a recognizable name behind the product This should not be a get rich quick or how to make $10,000 a month in your spare time - it needs to be something of quality that I can genuinely recommend to my readers. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
enRoute ads - 10 days with my new salesmen enRoute ads - 10 days with my new salesmen - Hi Guys, As some of you may know I hired a sales person for my business. I picked him amongst 50+ interviews, so I did do my due diligence. For any of you who have had experience with outbound sales reps in your company could you please shed some light on these statistics and let me know what you think: Days Employed: 11 Calls Made: 200 Average length of call: 3 minutes Sales: 0 Closing Rate: 0 Previous closing rate at Astral Media: 5% He is selling billboards instead of radio, for an unestablished company vs. an established one There seems to be large gaps in calling made in his daily log, on average he is making 20 calls a day. I am going to try to increase this by providing him with calling lists versus him creating his own. (I will keep you posted on this). I am just wondering, in your experience, what kind of regiment do you have your cold callers work on, 6 hours? 4 hours? 7 hours? And did you notice a curve occur with closing rates as time progressed and experience increased? If so when did you notice this begin to occur, I have him on a 1,500.00 NON-RECOVERABLE sales draw salary which ends in 6 weeks (approx).
Re: Franchise Surveys Re: Franchise Surveys - Great, hope you have taken the time to read my earlier post in this same thread. Before I forget, go for a franchise that involves something of interest to you, and don't just rely on the offered prospectus ROI numbers Listening and sharing are great concepts and should be part of your due diligence, but qualify the source of the information that you are receiving, I would add Observation and become a customer and see first hand the operations and management of the franchise I would also try some not so obvious exit surveys of the customers, satisfaction with the food, service, accommodations, cleanliness, toilets, etc. Related such to the type of franchise you are considering Survey more than one location What is the competition, traffic count, etc Franchises are great for some that do not have a plan of their own. Remember it is their plan, and most will not let you sway from their success model. For me, I would prefer to reinvent the plan and do it my way
