You Have Only Yourselves to Depend On, Ladies and Gentlemen!

Entrepreneurs are the truly the only people with job security and life balance.

I’ve been watching the GOP debates and the President on his re-election tour, and I’ve been silent long enough. If you’re sitting around waiting on a presidential savior…you’re screwed! Everyone knows that the only way to ensure your financial future is to become an entrepreneur and start your own business!

You’ve heard all about the Wall Street debacle and the “too big to fail” banking and automotive industries, among others. There is no big company employer loyalty anymore. All of the fat cat CEOs are in it for themselves. So why shouldn’t you be too? It’s not that hard to become an entrepreneur and it’s extremely rewarding.

And while I’m on a rant, if you’re in college and you’re looking for a company to work for…screw that. You’ll be better off in the long run, if you will just decide what your dreams are, with creating a business which allows you to live out your gifts and talents. Think of all of the young entrepreneurs and even college drop-outs, who have started businesses like Facebook and Apple, and I could go on and on.

It’s a fact that small and medium-sized enterprises, called SMEs continue to be the largest single source of new job creation. 65% of all new jobs created in the last 20 years have come about through SMEs. Small and medium-sized enterprises also make up 99% of all businesses across the globe, even if they only account for less than half of the GDP. So think about it, small business entrepreneurs are vital to the global economy.

Being an entrepreneur also gives you great perks. First, you get to work for yourself and set your own hours. You can create jobs for yourself and others in a time when jobs are scarce and the future is unpredictable. Another great aspect of being an entrepreneur is that you get a unique opportunity to give back to your community or to causes which you are passionate about. Maybe you have a love for animals, the hungry, the homeless, or for finding a cure for cancer. When you are an entrepreneur, you can select those causes you believe in to partner with, and earn a living at the same time!

And let’s not forget about the best thing about being an entrepreneur…You can have a TON of FUN! I’ve found a way to make an incredible income with companies which meet a need in the market place and which also make a difference in the lives of my clients, my employees, and the planet. So what are you waiting for? Get off your ass and start brainstorming your dream job. Nobody’s gonna hand it to you on a silver platter. In this day and age, if you think outside the box and dream up a service, or invent a useful gadget, you’re gonna make it big!

Business Women Peer Mentoring Spotlight Business Women Peer Mentoring Spotlight - Hi Ladies, I had an idea on how we could really offer some support to one another here on the Forum. I thought it might be fun if we invited one of the Ladies here to put her business in the spotlight. Then we could all have an opportunity to do a little Peer Mentoring. After a specific length of time, we could then open it up for the next woman to present her business. What do you think? Do you want to be the woman who gets some free tips first? If so, tell us your situation and we'll get started! I'm looking forward to hearing what you think. Warmly, Tami
