The three pillars of a good brand are authenticity, consistency, and clarity

Today, branding is essential when it comes to career planning, recruiting, retention and creation. The market place is crowded and the labour market is more competitive than ever, you need to stand out!

To make your mark and rise above the noise, have a clear idea of what you're all about and what you have to offer (and to whom). Be able to articulate what makes you different. What do you have to offer that you are able to demonstrate as different, better or unique? Dig deep inside yourself and find those characteristics and strengths. Once you have your branding message down, clear and concise, take the opportunity to tell your little piece of the world what you're all about and how you can help them with your product, service or system.

If you need help, there are plenty of experts out there to help you not only build your brand, but to use social media.

I am a strong advocate of learning to use a systematic process that can produce measurable results. Using a networking process I've developed over time, anyone can discover the importance of sharing contacts that will refresh, build, and leverage the network you already have. A well branded individual can build the rapport needed to make an impact on the decision makers.

Discover the facts on how people view you and your company when it comes to social media. Get hands-on solid understanding from experts on Twitter, Blogging, LinkedIn, Facebook, Google Alerts and Tagging when it comes to building your credibility and your brand. If you're mind boggled on branding and social media and you want a little help - send me an email - I'm happy to introduce you to some of my colleagues that are THE experts.

Remember, the three pillars of a good brand are authenticity, consistency, and clarity - and that brand needs to visible!

When you're looking for that perfect opportunity - you need to differentiate yourself from the crowd! It's all about creating your brand and becoming more visible.

This is the age of technology and if you want to stand out, you need to be visible, not just face to face but on-line as well. Social media and all it represents is something you need to know about.

What makes you different from all those other people who are looking for similar opportunities? It's branding and how you create your image.

The three pillars of a good brand are authenticity, consistency, and clarity. Using these pillars works for your brand when it comes to finding that next perfect opportunity - whether it's in on line in direct sales, as an MLM or in a franchise. People need to khow you are authentic and accountable. Use examples that prove consistency and reliability. Be transparent when it comes to showcasing your strengths and talents.

I encourage everyone to join LinkedIn, to Blog to learn more about Twitter and to understand social media and how to raise awareness and generate interest in not only who you are, but what you represent. Remember YOU are the brand.

If you have a blog, don't feel that you have to constantly write about yourself. A blog doesn't have to be about YOU it can be about your area of interest with quotes from experts. Use Google Alerts to maximize content and get the experts to show you how to use tagging to maximize your visibility.

In order to stand out from the crowd, you need a "You Inc" attitude. Think of yourself as the CEO of your own personal services company. Make a list of what you stand for personally and professionally.

Become THE "expert". Don't just be competent; the world is full of unemployed competent people. Do something that no one else does. Choose a franchise, a direct sale company or an MLM that speaks to you and your passion.

You are a Brand that Shouts Distinction, Commitment, and Passion!

If you think of yourself as a brand, then everything you do reflects and affects the sale of "You Inc."

Re: Why do people hate Network Marketing / MLM? Re: Why do people hate Network Marketing / MLM? - You make a great point abotu the sales industry GT. Unfortunately, sales businesses have a really high attrition rate. From car salesmen to real estate or insurance agents, anywhere from 60-80% (depending on the chosen market) fail and quit without ever making a single sale. Since most people think of MLM as a sales business, it's no wonder the attrition rate is that high or higher. The fact is, MLM is NOT a sales business. It's a PEOPLE business, or more specifically, a Coaching and mentoring business. As for an example, I do have one, as you would expect. But, rather than pitching my company here, I would suggest learning the basics of what makes a successful mlm company. A mentor of mine, Michael Dlouhy developed the 5 Pillars to Network Marketing. If the company has all 5 pillars, you can almost guarantee success. If not, the chances are not good. Michael developed this over 20 years ago. He knew MLM could work, but had no luck himself. SO, he joined over 100 companies in under 2 years just so he could compare and see what worked, and what didn't. Bottom line, you need a 5 pillars company if you hope to be successful. Bill
Re: Avoid Franchise Mistakes Re: Avoid Franchise Mistakes - Performing the proper due diligence is critical. When ever I am working with a client, I require that the agree to call at least 10 existing franchise owners at an absolute minimum. Most of the time, people only call 1 or 2 and they miss out on what I call the "consistency" information. We look for consistency in franchise models. No franchise has 100% success and that should not be expected. If you are talking to 10-15 owners chances are 1/3 of them are doing extremely well, 1/3 are doing so/so and the other 1/3 are in the middle. It is important to hear consistent themes on support, training, ROI, increased revenues & profitability etc...If you don't hear consistent themes then a red flag should go up quickly.

Re: Business attire Re: Business attire - [quote="Sprezzatura Custom":3k75jxln]quality of construction/materials #2, and brand recognition/cachet of owning it #3.[/quote:3k75jxln] I wanted to add: 1.) How do you know how good the quality is until you've owned the item and tried washing and wearing it out? For example, I don't really know anyone who owns a $200 dress shirt from Harry Rosen, etc. 2.) If you're wearing a solid colored dress shirt, who would even know what brand it is? Sure the shirt would look nicer than something you can pick up from Costco, but it's not like 99.99% of people would be able to distinguish one top brand from another unless they pulled on your collar to see the branded tag.
