Always read a companies terms and conditions thoroughly and any fine print so you have a good understanding what is on offer, never put pen to paper until you have a clear understanding on what you are going to receive from a company. This will protect you down the road if any problem a rises.

Prepare a list of questions to have on hand before contacting any company and add questions to the list as you go a long contacting companies. Make sure you understand the answers you get from the questions you ask and make sure you don't get the run round. Just remember they will be more or less working for you so make sure you are getting the right responses that you are after.

At the end of the day you are the one who has to do the research to find the right fit to handle your credit card debt. If you just take that little bit of time out to find the right company to help you manage your debt it will quite possibly save you some major headaches down the line. Fixing your credit card debt is a major step for you to be taking, so make sure you make the right decision off the bat.
