Article Overview: If you want more customers and more profits from your business, you'll want to read this amazing success story, and find out how you might benefit from it. I was chatting with my good friend, Jim Kaspari, the other day to find out what he's been up to. Jim has been a business coach and marketing consultant for the last 5 years and has helped hundreds of clients in 6 countries improve their businesses. He told me how he recently got this new client who owned some businesses, including coincidentally, a couple of laundromats. His client was having some big problems and asked Jim for his help. When I heard what Jim did for his client, I told him that I wanted to share this experience so others could implement some of those same strategies and start ramping up their businesses.

Coin Laundromats - Secret to Getting More Customers and Business

Attention coin laundromat owners! If you want more customers and more profits from your business, you'll want to read this amazing success story, and find out how you might benefit from it.

This story could have a direct positive effect on your Laundromat business, so please read on ... Meet Terry, Living the Dream of a Successful Laundromat Owner

Terry is the proud owner of two Laundromats. Early in his career, Terry was one of the first employees at a software company in Silicon Valley, CA, and was then able to retire early due to his stock option profits. When he retired, Terry's plan was to make even more money by flipping properties in California. With some of his profits, he purchased two laundromats and began receiving some really nice income working those businesses part-time. All totaled, he only worked 4 days a week and had it made - living the dream!

Then Disaster Strikes Twice - Real Estate Crashed and the Economy Collapsed

When the Real Estate market crashed, it created BIG losses for Terry. On top of that, the downturn in the economy made his Real Estate business, like so many other businesses, fall on some pretty hard times. Terry's credit card bills were piling up and he was having trouble keeping up with his upside down mortgage on his own home. That's when he asked my friend Jim for some help.

Terry Needed Cash and Jim Found a Way to Help

Jim knew about the laundromat business through me. We often help each other and share coaching ideas on our respective businesses. When Terry shared his tale of woe, Jim quickly realized that Terry needed to get more people to come into his laundromats, because that's where he was making his money.

Since most people who use a coin laundromats find out about them online these days, Jim looked to see if by using website marketing and SEO he could increase Terry's customer base. You might be asking, "What in the world is SEO?" SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, which is a complex technology that gets websites to rank highly (show up on the first page) in search engines like Google. The only way a website can work for you is if your potential customers see it!

Terry's first business is a wash and fold/commercial/coin operated laundromat. He already had a generic website with the proper information and pictures on it, but the words weren't compelling enough to drive people to the store. Also, there had been no market analysis or SEO done on the site. The company that hosted his website (I'm not naming names, but it is in the industry) even had it set up (hopefully accidentally) so that it wasn't visible to the public or search engines!

Jim re-worded Terry's website after a thorough interview and customer surveys. Then he did some market research to see what most people would type into Google if looking for a local Laundromat, and then proceeded to complete some initial SEO work. Once Jim was done and the site update was posted, Terry's website JUMPED to #2 on Google in only 3 DAYS! Sweet! The next week, Terry called Jim to tell him that two clients had brought in printed coupons from the website, so they knew it was working to bring in new clients.

Then Jim used the same strategy and technology to design and optimize a website for Terry's other laundromat. This other laundromat had over 30 other Laundromats in a city of 400,000 people and Jim got this website on the first page of Google in just 2 DAYS! Terry called Jim a few days later to say that he'd never seen his Laundromat so crowded.

I wanted to share this story with you to give you hope and inspire you into action. Hopefully, you can use some of these ideas to increase your business. Don't be afraid to try new things with your marketing. Online marketing is performing quite well these days. The Yellow Pages are dead. When they deliver them to me, they go right into the recycle bin. Everything is online and there is no need to keep the book around, cluttering up the kitchen anymore. Our customers are doing the same thing.

A word of warning, there are many affordable web designers that don't get the keys to the kingdom when it comes to market research and SEO. Remember, if your websites aren't found on the first page of Google, you won't get more clients.

Victoria's Secret - Too Sexy? Victoria's Secret - Too Sexy? - This will be upsetting for some men. I just heard a report about Victoria's Secret and it was interesting. Their sales were down drastically in the 4th quarter of 2007 and the report was about how they are thinking the company has gotten too far away from the heritage that made it the blockbuster company it is. They are thinking the ads etc have become too sexy and the plan (at the moment) is to make the ads more sophisticated. That would be like the Super Bowl commercial which was very tasteful, but very different from any Victoria's Secret I've seen lately. Who do you all think the current sexy ads are targeting? I think its the men that they hope will buy these items for their female significant others. I hate to give Omarosa any kudos - but most women aren't "sold" on an item by an ad of a near naked sexy woman. Shri
OT: A pocket coinholder OT: A pocket coinholder - Many years ago, I picked up a pocket coinholder. Coin carrier - I'm not sure of the correct term. I think I may have gotten it through Sharper Image, but actually I'm not sure where I got it. But I loved it. It was a small black plastic square, with four spring-loaded columns so you could stack a certan number of quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies in each column. It either broke or I lost it, and I've been searching for something similar ever since, but have been unable to find it. Anyone know what I'm talking about, and where I could get one? If not...someone do some reverse engineering and build one - properly marketed I'm sure it could take off!
