Two kinds of people in the world...

The folks that want (need!) an iPhone, and those that couldn't care less. And of course it's not just Apple and it's not just phones. It's every single industry in the world.

You're not likely to convert one group into the other. What you can do is decide which group you'd like to market to. You can't do both at the same time, not particularly well, anyway.

O;lympics ... may...be good for me O;lympics ... may...be good for me - Since I've got a sports webzine I think I'll start doing some articles about this (I haven't up til now, being concerned with maximizing the NCAA tournament first), and see if that builds up my readership. On a personal note, I say let the Olympics go ahead, let people around the world see how the Chinese live, let the Chinese people see how everyone else in the world lives, and the government of China will be forced by that - rather than this unfortunate Tibet protests - to mend their ways. Not that I'm trying to minimize what is happening and has happened to Tibet... it's interesting that only now do a lot of people care... or is it that only now are a lot of people being covered by the media?
Re: How to open your own spa Re: How to open your own spa - Julie, Where are you located. It sounds like there are several kinds of spas across the world. Here in the Midwest of the U.S. we have spas that include massages, facials, nail care, tans, and more, but it sounds like it is much different in Japan and Europe. What would you like to have in your spa? Also, I think it would be good for you to take some classes on business, whether it would be at a community college or a 4 year institution. I just think they could benefit you before jumping into something like this. You would learn how to write a business plan and several other general things that would benefit your business.
Teleclasses Teleclasses - I've taken some teleclasses and they can be very effective. A good teacher makes a world of difference too. The flexibility and being able to share ideas with people from a variety of areas is great for brainstorming. I've also been in some of those free teleseminars where you get teaser info - while they hope you'll buy the expensive courses. All useful and open a world of possibilities for people who can't afford the money or time to travel to conferences and classes. ChrisH
Avon/ Amway Avon/ Amway - Do these count as franchises? I saw an Amway commercial just a few days ago...first time I ever saw them advertise, that I can remember. Times must be tough when they have to start advertising. Avon. Amway. Pampered Chef. All kinds of programs where people have to go door to door...hard way to make a living, I'd've thought. Course I'm not a people person...
How to find pearls and gems in the pile of manure? How to find pearls and gems in the pile of manure? - There are many social networks online with all kinds of people joining them. A lot of them are spammers or people posting content provided by programs and posted a zillion times already. Yet i found valuable pearls and gems. People from which I learned a lot. Some of them became real friends and/or partners. There are also people i have no close relation to but who I follow because the give tips and insights about several aspects of online marketing. As an example: For me personally that are all together about 20 people of the apsense membership of 80,000 Of course there are more. I read only articles in general I have an interest in. But my point is that I actually read them most of the time. Reading and thinking about what you read is the only way to find out if a person in knowledgeable in a certain field. That and reading comments. It is time well invested. I would not be where I am now if I had not found these pearls and gems of people
