You're boring

Sorry, someone had to say it.

Your products are predictable. Your insights are recycled. You don't bring surprise with you when you enter a room.

That's why people are ignoring you.

Which used to be fine, because you could just buy attention for your brand or your company or your sales efforts. But that half-price sale on attention is now over.

The only path left is to lean out of the edge and become interesting, noteworthy and yes, remarkable.

Re: What is the Best Franchise? Re: What is the Best Franchise? - As a franchise owner the things that I look for in a prospective franchise is: 1- A proven track record. Too many franchises try and branch out long before they have perfected their product, don't become a guinea pig for them to figure out what works and what doesnt. 2- Support. A good franchise should have great communication with it's franchisee's and be available to meet it's franchisees needs. Youre only contact with them shouldn't be when you have a problem. Good franchises involves it's franchisees in building it's business. 3- A Great System. McDonald's doesn't exactly make a good hamburger but they have an excellent system of conducting business. The real value in a franchise is the system, not necessarily the product. There are many other factors in deciding on a franchise but many of those are personal to you and your situation. The best thing to do is to conduct as much research as possible and speak with every current franchisee you can and get a feel for the franchise. garyshouldis.com
Re: Men don't wear ties (necktie: US) like before! Re: Men don't wear ties (necktie: US) like before! - I prefer to wear a tie if I'm going to get dressed up. It just looks professional to me. I think ties will always be in. Perhaps the hi-class people are just trying to set a new trend, or maybe even a fashion statement. Who knows. Personally, I think it looks weird to wear a suit and not a tie. [quote="Kevin Lee":1bk0v2q4]I don't know, but the color purple seems to be "in" this year. Personally, I'd like to see a future without boring collared shirts. Men's fashion is so boring with only polo tees and dress shirts. By the way, how many shirts, ties, dress pants, dress shoes does one need in his repertoire?[/quote:1bk0v2q4] I see a lot of people wearing purple these days, even my Dad. I think it actually looks good. I have a pink shirt with a tie to match... LOL. I only have one suit, one pair of dress shoes, and maybe 8 to 10 dress shirts. I could use a few more pants, but I'll survive.
Re: How to Write a Bio That Sells You and Your Company Re: How to Write a Bio That Sells You and Your Company - Many bio's can be very long and boring. I think that the main thing is to keep it fairly short and to the point but it needs to be written in such a way that the reader wants to find out more. Get them curious. MichelleJ
Re: Laissez-faire! Re: Laissez-faire! - This also applies when outsourcing. When you find someone you trust, you can let that person do the creative stuff as well as the boring stuff and that way you save yourself even more time.
Re: Article: How to Improve Your Cold-Calling Skills Re: Article: How to Improve Your Cold-Calling Skills - I am with you on that Alan, I have also done my share but must admit I never really enjoyed doing it. I am far happier with what I do now, but it is "different strokes for different folks". Thank goodness we don't all like the same things, would make for a very boring world. MichelleJ
