Be Grateful
I do try to consciously practice gratitude every day, but certainly Thanksgiving is a reminder to us all. I recall driving up to Santa Barbara to meet some friends for the holiday one year and just scrolling through my cell phone and dialing people to say how grateful I was at that very moment for their presence in my life. How truly blessed I am, for so many different reasons, for the moments these people, like my writing partner Tahl Raz, walked into my life. The more people I called, the better I felt about myself and the world. What a gift it was to give to myself and I absolutely encourage you to try it. Come on, do it! I want to say something else, too. I am so seriously grateful for you, that you are reading this, that you feel that I have made or could make a difference in your life in some way. Thank you so sincerely. I've spent most of life hoping I would someday find a place where I was making a real difference in this world. Thanksgiving is just another day, but make it a day to pass along your gift of gratitude. It's such a powerful currency. Just tell the people in your life how wonderful they are in your eyes and how grateful you are to know them.
I could talk about all the studies that show that being grateful makes you better liked, healthier and more creative. But the best way to learn is experience. Let me and my team know how it went.
