Drive-By Flattery
- For more on Keith Ferrazzi visit www.ferrazzigreenlight.com
If someone you know has done amazing work, don't just thank or compliment the person. Tell his or her boss. I call this drive-by flattery and do it all the time. It will increase the person's political capital at work. You can do this for a client, a co-worker or an executive assistant. You can ask for this, too. When you ask someone for help, you are actually making that person feel good and valuable because the opportunity to help another is a gift. Wouldn't it be great if you had that kind of relationship with someone? It's as easy as saying, "Could you do me a favor? My boss doesn't understand how hard I work and what I do. Would you make sure at some time during this project that he gets that?" Try it. Remember, flattery will get you everywhere
